  1. Yes I think that's exactly what was getting me confused. It is 105 mm distance between the holes. The thing is are those metal plates going to fit any fan depth wise? I think the Noctua NF-A15-PWM would work ? Also if those metal plates don't fit for one reason or another could I just ghetto zip-tie it? edit: Both fans are 140x140x25 so I guess there is no reason for the Noctua fan not to work although the holes for the mounting seem much bigger IDK if that's gonna be a problem
  2. Hello guys. I have this CPU cooler and my fan seems to be on it's last legs. It's making weird noises and I want to replace it ASAP. The problem is I can't tell which fans are compatible from Thermaltake's website. Even though the fan is 140mm the mounting holes seem to be much closer together. Also I don't know if the actual width (depth) of the fan matters. If anyone has idea what fans would work I'd instantly become their fan. Thanks guys.
  3. Alright that's all I needed to know.It's fine I guess. Thanks!
  4. The thing is I have the xf80 model in my living room and I've connected it to my PC. It works normally when you disable all of the post processing and put it at game mode all be it at 50hz. I'm going to use it as a secondary monitor / TV not as my primary. I already have a 2k g-sync gaming monitor as my main.
  5. I'm interested in buying the Sony KD-43XF8577 to use as a PC monitor. The spec says it is 100hz but It doesn't say what kind of HDMI it supports. I'm guessing 2.0 . Does that mean I can't use the TV at any more than 60hz when plugged into my PC (1080ti) ?
  6. The worst thing about it all is that there is a petition for G-sync driver rollout on older g751 models in the ROG forums but no one from support actually adressed the issue and confirmed/denied that the hardware of the machines is different.I am very confused.
  7. It will be all yes but the question still remains if there's a difference at all between the two laptops or if it is just a freaking driver that will not be "officially" supported by the old model
  8. The thing is the additional RAM and SSD cost just as much from the laptop store or if I buy them extra so it still exceeds my budget and because I won't be able to afford the SSD right now but in a couple of weeks when I come back from my trip I'd have to install the OS on the Hard Drive and then reinstall on the SSD once I've purchased it.And on top of it all I lose a lot of money because of the sale and the fact that neither the backpack nor the mouse are included in the G-Sync model. What I'm asking here is if there is an actual difference between the models other than the sticker ?
  9. Hello forum. This is my first post so if I messed something up excuse my incompetence.I am forced into a Dilemma. This upcoming week I will be buying an ASUS g751 notebook.Since the G-sync edition has just arrived in my country but I'm on a tight budget I have a choice to make.Should I go with a non g-sync laptop that has 128GB SSD and 16GB of ram and hope that drivers (official or not) will be released for g-sync support (if anyone has info if the actual hardware of the g-sync version is different please feel free to correct me) or choose the G-Sync model with 8 GB of ram and no SSD but only a sluggish hard drive instead? The processor is the 4720HQ and the GPU is the 980M in both models so the only difference at first glance is the "g-sync" marketing. So please tell me if the monitor in the G-Sync one is different or is it just a software update that will make ASUS more money from their "new" laptop?I have a couple of days to decide before I absolutely have to own it due to work related reasons. Thanks in advance. edit:The older model also comes with a backpack and a mouse + it is on sale, while the new one comes just by itself.
