I have this laptop: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Laptop/AERO-15-Classic--Intel-9th-Gen#kf I cracked the display on it recently and decided to replace it. Luckily the repair went smooth however the bottom bezel (portion on the laptop that says AERO) had to be removed in order to access the connector and place it back on. The issue is that this bottom bezel is a thin sheet of metal heavily glued to the display frame, so upon removing it the bottom bezel is now bent out of a shape and permanently deformed. I probably could put this under something heavy for a couple days and let it flatten back out, but I thought I would go to some tech forums first and see if anyone knew if there was somewhere I could purchase a replacement for this (Doesn't need to have the branding on it, just want the bottom display module covered up). I've been searching everything but still no luck. Thanks!

As the title suggests, some games I've tried running on my Gigabyte AERO 15 Classic-SA-F74ADW are performing much worse than expected. From my testing, Cyberpunk 2077 (5-15fps) and Minecraft (20-40fps) both run extremely poor. This poor performance only has occurred in these two games thus far, everything else runs as expected. First I downloaded afterburner and rivatuner and monitored performance, for some reason GPU and CPU are being held at only 10-30%. I can't tell why this would be, they aren't thermal throttling and they shouldn't be power limited. I've tried reinstalling drivers using DDU and then downloading the exact drivers on Gigabyte's support site and the issue still persists. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar on their gaming laptop and what a possible fix may be. Oh and for those and don't want to look it up (I totally understand), the specs for the Gigabyte AERO 15 Classic-SA-F74ADW are: GTX 1660 Ti, intel Core i7-9750H, 16GB ram.

Crashing and lower than expected performance in COD BOCW
bman7842 replied to bman7842's topic in Troubleshooting
After hours of testing, swapping components, and troubleshooting. Unfortunately the only solution I came to was completely reinstalling Windows. Not sure what was wrong with my previous windows install, but reinstalling completely solved the problem. I would suggest starting with doing a windows repair to see if that works before full on reinstalling it. -
Crashing and lower than expected performance in COD BOCW
bman7842 replied to bman7842's topic in Troubleshooting
Alright at this point I'm at a loss for what is causing the crashing. Here's things I've tested: First I tried playing COD MW again (which had the same issues on PC for me) and it still crashes, even more often then BOCW. I tried the windows memtest which found 0 problems with memory. Perhaps memory leak in the COD engine may be an issue, but after clearing up some memory and doing lots of tests, I've noticed the crash still occurs (although I find with lower memory utilization, the crash appears to take longer, this isn't exactly proven though). I just completely uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics drivers and still notice very little difference. I'm so confused on what this issue is, I would say its just a bad launch with bugs but the fact that this issue is still occurring on COD MW which has been out for a year and the issue seems fairly uncommon is annoying. Its frustrating that the game doesn't give an error code or anything (if anyone knows about potential log files I could look at that would be great) so its extremely difficult trying to troubleshoot without any idea of whats happening. If anyone knows of things I should be looking for or testing specifically, I would love to hear! -
Crashing and lower than expected performance in COD BOCW
bman7842 replied to bman7842's topic in Troubleshooting
CPU temps are fine, GPU is at max temp of 83 degrees. Its definitely throttling (if you look at the video rivatuner even mentions it is temperature limited) but this has happened in other games without crashing. I'm gonna do some more testing in Horizon Zero Dawn since this was the only other game I've noticed to crash randomly -
Crashing and lower than expected performance in COD BOCW
bman7842 replied to bman7842's topic in Troubleshooting
Alright, after further it almost feels like there is a correlation between memory usage being about 14500MB and crashing shortly after. I found both maps actually use about the same amount of ram starting at around 13500MB and depending on how you play, it will slowly creep up to 14500MB which at around this point is were it seems to crash. Could be a coincidence but something I'm noticing more and more. -
Crashing and lower than expected performance in COD BOCW

Thanks! I tried this and unfortunately it did not fix the crashing issue and performance is about 10fps lower than before, however I did make a small discovery that may be useful. In testing this time. I initially joined match on a map called Garrison which is a smaller mainly indoor map. While playing Garrison it used about 13500MB-14000MB of ram while playing and the game did not crash at all past the 7 minute mark. I thought for consistency sake I should also play on the map I previously used to test (Cartel, a larger outdoor map) to ensure consistency and about 1 minute into playing on Cartel the game crashes. I noticed on Cartel ram usage was up to around 14800-15200MB (near the max 16000MB). Not sure if this has relevance just thought I would mention, I'm gonna do some more testing to increase the sample size on this. -
I'll keep it short, about 2-5 minutes into any match in the new COD my game completely crashes. No error message is provided it just randomly closes the application. I had a somewhat similar issue occur in Horizon Zero Dawn (although the crashes were not as frequent as they are in COD). The reason this issue is so frustrating is because I had the same exact issue on COD Modern Warfare last year and I gave up trying to fix it so I just bought it for my ps4 and played it on there. This year I'd like to actually play the game on PC. Things I've troubleshooted already: - Whether the graphics card is faulty: My friend came over yesterday with his PC, he has a core i7 6700k with 16gb of ram and I placed my GTX 1060 SC in his system. The game never crashed once while playing and we were getting 80-100 fps (where as, on my PC we only get 50-70). I should note, these frames on my computer may be lower due to the fact that I have a dual monitor setup and I was using geforce experience to screen record the performance for you all to see. Basically what I'm saying is, lower expected performance is low priority, my main issue is trying to solve the crashing as that truly makes the game unplayable - And yes, I do have the latest nvidia drivers for my graphics card. Since its hard for me to explain what's happening, I recorded some gameplay, this video goes from the start of a match and the point where the video ends is the point where the game crashes. I can add more performance metrics to rivatuner if needed. Why is my gpu suddenly producing heat requiring fan noise
bman7842 replied to bman7842's topic in Troubleshooting
I'm stealing that title because I agree, it is better suited for describing my issue. I've done some tinkering since I initially posted my question, I downloaded evga precision x1 and it appears msi afterburner was the reason gpu fan speed wasn't at 0% during idle. As for changing any settings, I did not change anything, I did bump some parts, I feel as though this might be accidental damage. Not sure if EVGA would even offer repairs especially since out of warranty and previous gen. -
Why is my gpu suddenly producing heat requiring fan noise
bman7842 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
So this issue has occurred just today after adding some new case fans. I have a Cougar QBX case and was finding the GPU was getting a little loud with it being a mini-itx case and relying on only one case fan ( the 90mm in the back to cool it). I decided to buy some noctua case fans to improve airflow, I put them all as intake (recommended by Optimum Tech), two below the GPU and one on top above the CPU. I thought these fans would help keep the internal components cooler therefore meaning the loud GPU cooler would do less work but I was extremely wrong. First thing I noticed when I got into a game was the PC was way louder, like crazy loud. At first I thought perhaps it was the case fans so I unplugged all except the one back one I had alone previously only to realize it was the GPU spinning at a much higher speed. I thought this was weird so I decided to remove all the fans I added and get the pc back to what it was previously, but the issue is still occurring. I should note I have a EVGA GTX 1060 6gb SC and there is a little sticker on the GPU fan that I had to remove in order to prevent it coming in contact with the Noctua fans. I know there is something wrong with the GPU because even at idle I can hear the GPU cooler fan spinning (before adding new fans the GPU fan would often be off when idle), and as shown in the picture even with the noctua pointing at it I am unable to get it back to the sound level it original was. It even ends up thermal throttling in games now because the GPU cooler can't keep up with the high temps. I'm wondering what happened, did I damage the GPU while removing it from the motherboard to add the fans or when peeling off the sticker, what could be causing these abnormal temperatures and likewise fan speeds? -
Ping randomly rises above 400ms while playing games

Nope no luck, I haven't done anything to it and the issue still occurs. I will note the frequency has decreased recently, couldn't tell ya why though... -

Yeah perhaps I need to do more thorough investigation but all I have noticed from just experiencing things is that it is only on my PC. Not ISP, I have moved 3 times this last year, from my childhood home to college dorm and apartment. College dorm had exceptionally good internet, new apartment aint bad either. (This was already mentioned in my post but I understand, it was kinda long. I tend to ramble) -

It happens on Valorant, CSGO, Rocket League. Surprisingly haven't noticed it on COD but could just be because they don't have a good way of showing ping in tab menu. I've tried wifi and ethernet, both cause issues. -

If you're asking for current things, I'm on Ethernet. Router is 5-10 years old here at home. Nothing downloading in the background, high ping is an isolated issue, only on the PC, speedtest with phone shows everything is fine. Everything else is already mentioned in the post
