It costs around 360 euros in Portugal, is it worth it? It is cheaper than the 8700k by like 20 euros, would I have/be able to overclock it? Also what mb would I be looking at?

Maybe I'm being a bit dumb, but I just know my way around Intel, and I don't know if there is a difference when assembling with AMD. I don't mean the physical part, I mean stuff like wanting to overclock and change specs like that. It probably is easy to learn, im just being a bit stubborn on learning it. What would be a AMD similiar to the i7 8700k if i wanna spend a bit more?

I'm just way more familiar with Intel then Amd, so I like going on brands I know. Does Amd not need a cooler? Would a 8700k be good? It costs around 380 euros, I don't know what mb to use though. Keep in mind my ssd is m.2.

I like Intel way more than Amd and wanted a cpu that could last me 1 card upgrade in the future. 1. Budget & Location I'm building this pc in Portugal. 2. Aim Definetaly the main purpose is gaming. I want to play games like Warframe and Cs which should be easy. But I also want to be able to play Rage2, Doom, Witcher and things like that, a good example is I want to play Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out at good frames. I want this pc to run games very well for at least the next 5 years, like above 60fps in medium+ settings. 3. Monitors Right now I have two monitors, both 1080p and one is 144hz. I can in the future upgrade to 240hz but I don't see myself going to 1440p that soon. 4. Peripherals I might need to buy windows, not sure if my collegue gives free acces to it, but its not a big deal. 5. Why are you upgrading? My pc is kinda old and doesn't really run games that well anymore, like it always crashes when loading new areas in Warframe.

I'm looking for a cpu that will work with this video card and last at least 1 video card upgrade still. I would like an i7, but will consider i5 if you say it is good enough. I'm going to be mainly gaming, maybe dowing low end programming too.

So right now I have this: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price Memory Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory $69.99 @ Amazon Storage Intel - 660p Series 512 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive $80.00 Storage Seagate - Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $59.89 @ OutletPC Video Card Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB G1 Gaming Video Card $390.00 Case NZXT - H700 ATX Mid Tower Case $140.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $739.88 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-06-26 11:10 EDT-0400 I can get a gtx 2070 for 150 extra euros, might be worth it to buy that instead? Also what would be good cpu options, both i7 and i5. Is everything alright with the list? The storage, the video card brand?

Im starting to pick the parts that are easier to see how much I want to spend on the other parts, I'll post a link to the pcpartpicker in a bit. Anyone know what type of ssd I should get. Also 512gb ssd with 1tb or 2tb hdd, do you think it would work? Is there alot of difference between 1tb and 2tb hdd prices? It should be a m.2 ssd nowadays, right?

Oh, and I was thinking on getting an i7, I know people keep telling me to get an i5 but I multitask like crazy and like to have alot of room with my cpu. Don't know anything about i9s but don't think I'll need of them. Starting to think on testing out and i5 maybe, because of the price.

I really don't know much about amd, i kinda fanboy over to intel for cpus and nvidia for cards, because I know more about them and how they work. I was seing about 400-500 for the 980ti and 1080 i think and 300 for 1070? But thats off the top of my head. And I don't really want to get a 1660, i want a 70 or a 80 because they run way better of experience and I would rather have one of those. What frequency do I need to get ram in? 3000 Mhz?

    1. Budget & Location I'm building this pc in Portugal. The budget is around 1k, but if I can get something good for about 800$ I might do it. 2. Aim Definetaly the main purpose is gaming. I want to play games like Warframe and Cs which should be easy. But I also want to be able to play Rage2, Doom, Witcher and things like that, a good example is I want to play Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out at good frames. My pc is kinda old and doesn't really run games that well anymore, like it always crashes when loading new areas in Warframe. 6.Current Pc. My current pc has a i7 3770 and a gtx 660. It's clear to me that the 660 isnt up to the task and I don't think the 3770 is up to date with running new games like Rage and stuff, and if I get new stuff it also allows me to keep 2 pcs that work running which might me useful to me. 7. New Pc. For the new pc I don't really know what I want besides: -I want a Nzxt case, I really like the H440 but I have to look at new ones and see what I like the most. - I don't really know much about video cards. But I was seeing the gtx 980 ti, 1070, 1080, and maybe even the rtx 2070 if i could fit it in bugdet. I don't think I need rtx, and maybe the 1070 is the best value, but it might be worth it to get a 80 one for the extra power. -The things I need most help on are the cpu, the cooler, the mobo and the video card. Also on how much ram. The other things should be easier.

    Help me pick a cpu

I'm pretty set on the 8700. I could do overclocking but I feel like the price diference between the 8700k and the 8700 is too big for it to me worth it for me. I won't consider i5s as I said, I want an i7 because the cores matter in some games I play. And between the 7700k and the 8700 there isnt so much price diference so I think Im good on not getting a 7700k and a more expensive mb just to overclock and be at 8700 rates.
