  1. It did post after i tried putting it on 4.6ghz so i guess it's pretty high though haven't checked how stable it was
  2. Sorry i don't understand your question. I just raised my multiplier and left everything else on auto. Ran prime95 for ~15 mins, x264 for ~15 too as i just got it a few days ago and have yet to do a full night run. Pretty happy so far with 59C
  3. yes i have my 6600K on 4.4 GHz and it never went above 60C
  4. definitely GPU, i have Q9550 myself, although slightly overclocked but i never go below 100 fps at 1920*1080 and you should probably get more/better ram.
  5. that's a tight fit in our country, but i guess it's possible if you go for 4670 (or e3 1231 v3) and h87/97 or an 6500 with h170 or even b150 if it's already over your budget.
  6. they both use same socket so i guess you could use high end H97 motherboards with it. In the end it's your choice if you want to save some money or go for i7
  7. same cache, both 4 cores and 8 threads, just E3 has slightly lower frequency. Other than frequency i cant see much difference
  8. Just bought myself new parts from skytech.lt and the difference between 4690k and 6600k was like <40 euros, the main difference was the z170 mobo which was ~25 euros more expensive than z97 and ~15 euros more for ddr4. If you can spare ~40 euros more go for skylake for some future proofness
  9. 1. Budget & Location I live in Europe. My budget is around 700-750 euros and can push around 100 euros more if it is really worth it. 2. Aim I am not using my PC for video rendering, 3D work or streaming. I use it everyday for common things and mainly gaming so i want it to run modern games and AAA titles at 1080p pretty well. Another concern is that i want it to last ~5 years so that i won't need to build another PC in the near future. 3. Monitors Currently have 1 monitor at 1080p and have no plans for more. 4. Peripherals - 5. Why are you upgrading? My reason for upgrading is that my current PC is getting pretty old. After doing quite a bit of research and looking at some benchmarks i came up with this build, which in my country currently costs around 670 euros. Was thinking about going for Skylake 6600K and DDR4 but i don't really think that it's worth it for how much more performance it gives. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (€249.34 @ Mindfactory) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (Purchased For $0.00) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (€102.44 @ Mindfactory) Memory: Kingston Savage 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory (€100.98 @ Amazon Deutschland) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (€87.95 @ Mindfactory) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card (Purchased For $0.00) Power Supply: Corsair RMx 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Total: €540.71 I have a few questions about this build as well. First of all I'm not really sure which mobo i should get. I feel like the HD3 rev1.0 is a good choice since i will want to OC my 4690K but there is a rev2.1 of it so i don't know whether i should get 1.0 or 2.1 since i struggled to find any information about these two and couldn't figure out the obvious difference. Another concern is RAM since pcpartpicker shows warning that it's voltage is at 1.65V whereas Haswell maximum is 1.5V. Another thing is PSU. I don't know how good this one is but it is fairly cheap where i live, also I might replace my 960 in a few years with something more powerful (like 970 or even 980TI) and I want to make sure that 550W is enough. Lastly i would like to buy a fairly decent mid tower or full tower ATX case for ~60 euros (it doesnt need to have fancy things like a window and it doesnt need to be very good-looking) but i don't know what i should buy. Thanks for your help
