  1. Ugh... I am really getting miserable with this notebook, now the keyboard isn't working. I think the laptop is going to the dumpster.
  2. I don't really mind paying less than 50$ to fix it, it's an old laptop anyways. It says 16-pin, when I counted the pins on the ribbon it's 18, did I mis count?
  3. Hello,The power buttons/lights on the laptop weren't working, opened it and checked that the ribbon that connects the motherboard with the power buttons was damaged, I tried to search for a ribbon like it locally and couldn't find it..I couldn't find any similiar to it on Amazon either, can someone assist me please? Here's the picture of it.http://imgur.com/tiFwvszhttp://i.imgur.com/0EtxGzxDimensions :Length: 45mmWidth: 9-10mmAnd it has typing on it saying "Ji-haw AWM E118... ASUS n53SN
  4. You were right, it was image install, I just formatted it and installed clean windows 10 Everything fixed, thanks!
  5. It was disabled already on the normal HDD, the shop told me these things on phone UPDATE: I've just called them and they told me these 2 things 1- SSD uses more buffer that's why it shows more size (?) 2- The image they used was probably old that's why and it's new SSD Does it make sense? And can someone explain for me this "buffer thing" Also, I showed hidden folder, and re-calculated... it's 35 GB now
  6. Thank you, but that only saved 4GB .. And please anyone, how can I check if the windows was just "image copied" or if the SSD was really used? UPDATE: I've just called them and they told me these 2 things 1- SSD uses more buffer that's why it shows more size (?) 2- The image they used was probably old that's why and it's new SSD Does it make sense? And can someone explain for me this "buffer thing"
  7. I've done it already, no difference at all, I even tried "disk clean up", but now I am more concerned whether the SSD was used or not :[ Was 850 EVO even released 19th June 2014?
  8. How can I make sure of such? I will contact the shop soon as they open, but it's really strange. I've cleaned up all my games and all my programs to the normal Hard disk, and the SSD is still using 65 GB, even though if I properties each folder and calculate them it wouldn't be more than 30 gb (20gb for windows is normal though? ) It was lunch time and I had a friend with me, so when it booted and he told us there's no hardware problem we went for some food :[ /true story/ Oh and I have the box of the SSD though
  9. No, it was custom built and everything was done infront of my eyes except the bios/windows installation.
  10. Hello, I've bought a build a week ago, and it was fine.. but I've noticed that the SSD was filled up already, so I was just wandering around looking where it was consumed, windows 7 was taken 21GB of it, I was really confused, I have no idea why I went and checked logs (Event viewer), and I saw events from 19th June 2014, and my PC is only 1 week old! I wasn't there when the windows "setup" process was done by the shop, so I just came in and saw it as new windows (there were no programs) The SSD is Samsung 850 EVO (was it even existed in 19th June 2014?) I am only having some error logs, is it possible to have more detailed logs? Like if it was used, what was it used for?
  11. I left the laptop running for couple hours just to see what happens.. Even though room temperature kinda went down, it's still hanging at 60C ... my question now is.. Is it dangerous? Or does it kill my CPU or it's not a critical thing?
  12. Could it because it's really hot room? 30C is quite a bit.. I am sweating even though I got the fan directed to my face But I am searching for the thermal paste replacement ... it must be done after 4 years for sure
  13. Nope, I had no idea what I was doing.. I just removed the top case off the laptop and saw the motherboard, sprayed the compressed air into the fan on the left side, and overall the motherboard then closed it.. I didn't see any fans on the CPU though, the fan I cleaned was for the videocard I assume.. or for the laptop overall. How can thermal paste be applied? when I opened the laptop case I couldn't see the cpu socket at all (like removable one), could it be upside down? I have AVG and Malwarebytes scanning frequently, I will scan again now Nope.. downloading Real Temp Update: I followed a guide to disable the boost feature (power options in windows something processor power state to 99% instead of 100%) and it went down 10C ~ The clock speed is now 798.1 Mhz stable, I am not feeling any slows with browsing unsure about gaming a bit.. I will test it when it stays cooled for a while. http://gyazo.com/123c4d4022d9b85eca6227b8a730a661 Are these temps reasonable? Idle.
  14. Back in 2010, I remember when I first got my steam account there was a method to get a CD key from a dutch forums .. I am quite sure the name was "Dark Messiah Of Might And Magic", so if anyone having trouble in having friends requests..etc, try to search for that.. it was free.
  15. Since 2011 June~, I had it cleaned by air compressor can like couple months ago, it had a clean look afterwards :>
