  1. idle cpu temp is in the high 30s and low 40s right now. Seems high to me. Anyone know what could be the problem?
  2. Playing competitive CSGO and all of a sudden this happened: 360+fps --> 100fps 30% load --> 100% CPU temps went up to 52 Celsius and higher. This has never happened before. It just happened right now while i was playing csgo. I haven't taken anything apart but I do have an h100i liquid cooler for my cpu. Could it be broken? Should I use a cpu fan instead? Is it a glitch or something? Here are my specs: Case: NZXT S340 Power Supply: Corsair CX750 OS: Windows 10 Motherboard: Asus Z97-A CPU: Intel i5-4690k Memory: Corsair Vengeance (16 gigs) Hard Drive: 1TB HDD & Intel 240 Gig SSD Video Card: GeForce GTX 1070 Headphones: Logitech G430 Monitor: BenQ XL2411Z 144HZ Monitor Mouse: Steelseries Rival Optic Mouse Mousepad: QCK-Heavy Keyboard: Corsair K65 RGB Keyboard
  3. yeah. only other weird thing i saw was my gpu usage going from 0 to 100 every second in msi afterburner. im assuming thats cause i havent been able to install anything for the new card tho. thanks so much for the help.
  4. it says "the best driver software for your device is already installed. windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date: intel(R) ethernet connection (2) 1218-V" and i tried disabling and reenabling and its not working.
  5. i have an optical drive that i can connect. pain in the *** but i can find the connector for it on my psu if that is what will fix this crap. i will try what you said first though. give me a sec.
  6. you are literally saving me like 300 dollars on a new mobo if you pull through on this! and yes i have everything that came with my mobo. what do i do? and also i dont really remember using a CD to get my drivers. I remember this because I do not have an optical drive and the only time i had one was when i temporarily connected one just to install windows 10 when i first built this pc.
  7. intel(R) ethernet connection (2) 1218-V device type: network adapters manufacturer: intel corporation location: pci bus 0 device 25 function 0 Device status: this device cannot start. (code 10) operation failed the requested operation was unsuccessful
  8. you are a genius! yes it does. it says "intel(R) ethernet connection (2) 1218-V" and has an exclimation mark next to it
  9. nothing says "Repair". I just do troubleshooting and it just says that there may be a software or hardware issue. It does the same exact thing when i troubleshoot without an ethernet plugged in. and how can i reinstall/update drivers without internet? Im not even sure which drivers i had installed in the first place.... Please have patience with me. this is literally a $1600 computer and i care about it more than my car lol.
  10. But why would it be the jack? It was working this morning. All I did is switch the graphics cards and reconnected everything...the jack still lights up
  11. Yes on board jack and yes I restarted modem and router. And it is as if nothing is plugged into the port. It's just a red "x" whether if plugged in or not
  12. Took my card out, cleaned a fan or two with a can of dust spray, placed my new graphics card in and literally everything works except for the Internet. I'm on direct Ethernet cable connection. So what do I do? I disconnect the Ethernet cable, connect it to my Xbox and the cable was working properly and so is my router/modem. However my pc seems to work fine except for the Internet. Even if connected. I did not uninstall any drivers or anything. I already switched back to my old gpu and same thing happens. Everything is perfect, but no internet. Could it it mean a broken motherboard? I don't see scratches. Idk how I can test and see if it's my motherboard. The light for the Ethernet on my pc still lights up and everything else works fine. How can I possibly fix this?
  13. How can I tell if that's the problem? What did I have had to scratch for something like that to happen? What do I do now? I connected my old card now
  14. It's not the card. I swapped to my old card and still no connection! What did I do??
  15. I I already disconnected everything and reconnected it. Hope it's not what naeaes said...
  16. The two monitor thing isn't an issue. I assume it's because I need to install an update through nvidia. However what is a problem is that I installed this new card and now I have no internet connection even tho I'm on an Ethernet cable. It just gives me this message when I run the diagnostics for my internet connection: "the Intel Ethernet connection 1218v adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems" the graphics card I got was a GeForce gtx 1070. I did not delete any drivers or software I already had on my pc. All I did was swap the graphics cards and connected the cables back where they were. What could possibly be the problem? Is it an error? do I need to reset my router when doing this sort of hardware upgrades? Please help!
  17. I just like BenQ best because of the huge amount of customization, height adjuster, FPS mode, 1ms response time, and the fact that literally every cs:go pro I know uses BenQ (which makes it easier to find optimal settings for playing). I could care less about the size since I'm currently running a 21 inch monitor for cs...24 is plenty for me
  18. I've gotten to MGE in CS:GO and I heard 144 hertz will make you LE instantly with only a small purchase of $299.99!!!!!
  19. I just got ur other post. I get it now. Makes perfect sense now. And nah. I'll probably keep the asus one cause I like having dual monitors. Hopefully it'll be fine in terms of fps.
  20. So, in conclusion, what should I do if I am playing a game OTHER than CS:GO? Will it be fine? Or should I use my 60 hertz monitor?
