Hello,
I'd like some help/recommendations on upgrading my GPU, I have a HD 7750 and it was viable at the time that I bought it (which was about 2-3 years ago).
It can run games up to 2012 fairly fine on high settings with my native resolution (1600x900), but anything newer can only run on low-med settings.
I'd like to play current gen games (Witcher III: Wild Hunt, GTA V, Batman: Arkham Knight etc) with a smooth 60fps or at least run them without dropping below 30fps on high-ultra settings at native resolution.
These are my current specs as of the time this is posted:
PC Part Picker
MOTHERBOARD: Asus P8H61-M LX3 R2.0
CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
GPU: Asus Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 (10% OC'd)
RAM: Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory
STORAGE: Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB
PSU: Corsair VS 550W ATX Power Supply
CASE: POWERLOGIC Azzura 3000
MONITOR: Samsung S20B300B 60Hz 20.0" Monitor
Based on the Mobo, PSU and CPU, is it possible for me to upgrade my GPU to either a Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Vapor-X or a ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 960? Is it worth the upgrade or is it only a slight improvement? Will my CPU bottleneck the GPU? Is my PSU enough to power them? Are they future proof?
I'm on a tight budget which is around $315. If you have any other recommended alternative GPUs then feel free to enlighten me. Just nothing above my budget.
Also I can only buy the parts locally due to reasons I don't need to explain.
