  1. Yeah, HP got stuff like "support assistant" and other things that just dicked me over in a big way.
  2. Nice. Did all the bloatware and stuff come with it?
  3. Oh okay. That sounds way simpler. Btw, the systems in question are all OEM's from HP and others. Will this still work or will there be some kind of interference?
  4. So i want to switch out all hardrives to ssds at my job and it would obviously save us alot of money if i could take the operating systems with me. I have never done this before so if anyone knows of a good and thorough guide i would appreciate it. If it's to any help, the system are all windows 7.
  5. Hehe yeah. While we don't do very demanding tasks, people get really frustrated when things move slowly because everyone has alot of responsibility at work and needs to do their stuff quickly. Also, people where i live are very old school and most doesn't want to deal with computers in general. i3 definitely seems like the way to go. For those suggesting sshd's, we really don't need alot of storage at most computers so it will be better to simply go with an ssd right? 120 GB is plenty.
  6. Just looked it up. It is a Pentium G3260 Looks like its the hdd that is the real performance thief.
  7. Well, we mostly use a program based on what i think is called microsoft business dynamic nav(its like a windows 97 looking program lol). Other than that, we use office programs and internet browsing. As i said earlier, the new pc i just bought slows down by just trying to open two windows at once, which imo is pretty unacceptable for a new computer. They didnt specify any specs for the hdd other than size so i will just build the pcs from now on.
  8. So the cpu isn't that important when handling some light load multi tasking? Im not very familiar with amds line of cpus, could you recommend one? What factors would be important for such use (cpu speed, cores etc)? It would also be nice to not have to get a gpu separately
  9. Okay, i might aswell go i3 then. The cheap office pc i bought a few weeks ago struggles with even having two different windows up at a time.
  10. Yeah, we just bought an office pc with a pentium and its as slow as an old pc. Im guessing this has to do mostly with the hard drive as no other specs other than size of the HDD is presented. Okay. It doesnt really have to be future proof. I just want an office pc that doesnt feel sluggish. Fast like my personal high end pc but it's only gonna handle lighter loads. Dont really have a budget. I just want a office pc that doesnt feel sluggish for the lowest price possible (without compromising on quality too much of course). Also, its hard to say a budget because im not from the states and everything here is alot more expensive but maybe around 300-400 dollars. It doesnt need alot of storage so i guess one ssd would be fine.
  11. So I'm building some office computers because the old ones are getting slow. I want them to be somewhat inexpensive but the cpu will always be a big part of the total cost. How much does CPU really affect desktop performance? Simple tasks like web browsing and working in some programs? is a low tier i5 good? As far as the other specs, i'm going for 8 gb ddr3 ram and a small ssd, which combined is only like 80 bucks.
  12. Thanks. The reason it took so long was because i had to sell my old pc in order to afford the gpu In hindsight maybe i should've gone with X99 but its no big deal i think.
  13. Okay then that sounds reasonable. Yeah im definitely going ultra wide 1440. Wanted to go 3 monitors for a long time but UW1440 seems like a much better option. I only simulated 4k because it should be much more taxing than UW1440 and i couldnt simulate an ultra wide aspect ratio.
  14. So if simulated 4k goes from 100-120 fps down to about 40, how much should true 4k hit the fps if you can estimate.
