  1. Hey all! I have a quick question: I'm currently running an Audio Technica AT2020 into a DBX 286s that runs into my Focusrite 2i2 (2nd gen) interface. I got this setup a few years ago for gaming/streaming and now I am really interested in singing and I want to put out a really nice sounding project. I was looking at an upgrade to my mic and I saw this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CI2a...AmaZaneChannel In the video, I love the sound that the SM7Bcreates. It is so open and feels as if the voice of the singer has more presence compared to the AT2020. I would be thrilled to have a sound like that. So here is my question: do you think my DBX 286s(without Cloudlifter/fethead) has enough clean gain to create a similar sound as the video? Do you think an upgrade to that microphone would be beneficial anyway? I look forward to hearing from ya'll, thanks! Sincerely, Joe
  2. Hello, I have a focusrite 2i2 second gen connected to a dbx 286s that connects with my at2020 microphone. I just set up my pc at my new place and I noticed last night that my 2i2 crackles on line 1. moving the gain up on line 1 makes the cracking sound louder, however moving the gain up on line 2 does not. It happens even when my microphone isnt plugged into the focusrite. I went ahead and updated my drivers and still nothing changed. changing the buffer size/sample rate on the focusrite settings doesn't immediately seem to do anything either. Anyone know what could be the issue? Thanks, Joe
  3. Thank you so much for your reply! Just to make sure I have everything correct, I should change my sample rate on the Scarlett 2i2 settings to 44100 to match my DAW and OBS, right? Also, what about the buffer size? Currently, my Scarlett 2i2 it set at a Buffer Size of 256.
  4. Hello, I have been streaming/podcasting/making music with my Audio Technica AT2020 + DBX 286s + Scarlett 2i2 setup for a couple of years now and I have always been confused about one topic: sample rates. It seems to be debated all across the internet and I can't really get a straight answer. For my uses, what sample rate and should I use in the Scarlett 2i2 settings? Also, what sample rate/buffer size/bit depth should I use in my DAW and OBS? Thanks in advance, Joe
  5. Here is another update. From the research I have done, it seems like the HD 598 SR earpads are different in that they are deeper and cheaper. I am still going look for replacement HD 598 SE pads. If anyone finds anything I would be more than happy to check it out, please just let me know. Thanks!
  6. So, I found the earpads for the hd 598 sr. Are these the same as the hd 598 se? https://en-us.sennheiser.com/ear-pads-hd-598-sr
  7. I have not, but I'll try giving them a call. I didn't see any replacement pads on their website, so I assumed that they didn't sell them. Edit: Just called sennheiser. They said that the don't have any in stock. Is there anywhere else on the internet that might have them?
  8. Hi, Where can I find genuine replacement pads for my HD 598 SE? I can't seem to find any replacements by sennheiser. Edit: or are there any pads that would be better than stock? I'm a little scared of changing the sound of these headphones, because I love them so much lol. Thanks, Joe DiCristo
  9. I wonder why the BIOS time would change then..that's a relief, but I'm still a little confused about what could have happened.
  10. My apologies admins, I have moved this thread to the "storage" section of the forum.
  11. Hello, Last night I was installing an old 850 Pro SSD to increase my storage. However, while I was making sure my boot drive was still my newer 860 EVO, I accidentally clicked my old 850 Pro, which still had drivers from my old Intel 4690K system that I haven't used in a couple years (I have been on AM4 with my 2700X since). After it booted, I quickly shut the computer down and booted into my 860 EVO, which I thought took more time than usual. As I booted into Windows, I noticed that my clock was an hour off! So, I unchecked and rechecked the "set time automatically" setting in windows, which quickly set the time back to normal. However, that got me thinking if anything else could have been messed up by booting into my old drive. Or maybe this was all a coincidence? I'm not sure. Since then I cleared my old SSD and I now plan to use it as secondary storage for games. Thanks in advance, Joe

  13. Hey, Over the weekend I overclocked my i5 4690k to 4.6 Ghz and had it stable at 1.28 volts. However, during stress testing, the CPU hits temperatures of 85 C on IntelBurnTest (Standard preset) even when the fans are maxed out at 1500 RPMs. In game, the temperatures fluctuate around 65 C (with fans around 1000-1200 RPMs) and at idle it sits around 37 C (with fans at 600 RPMs). Also, I have none of the power saving features in my motherboard enabled, so my CPU is always at 4.6 Ghz at 1.28 volts. Are these temperatures normal? They seem really high from what I've read and I want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong. My parts list is linked down below. Thanks, Joe
  14. Ok, so I am finally home and I took pictures of my weird setup. What brand and how much wall foam should I buy to properly fit my space. More importantly, where should I put them? Thank you so much for your help thus far! Edit: I will be purchasing a boom arm as well as the compressor for my AT2020 (the rode one that is really popular) to put the microphone closer to my mouth and get rid of the cheap desk stand that I bought.
