  1. UPDATE: I forgot to put the HDMI cable into the Graphics card rather than the motherboard, and now it displays the BIOS!! However, the device_boot_led is still lit up with red, does that mean something is wrong?
  2. UPDATE: I've installed the CPU power connectors, now there is a red light beside 'boot_device_led' text on the motherboard. Edit: When I turn it on, first the CPU_Led goes red and then off in a second, then the VGA_Led goes red and then off in a second and then the boot_device_led goes red until I turn it off.
  3. Hey.. So far, I've installed the GTX 980 ti superclocked acx 2.0+, ram, intel cpu and cpu fan on my asus z97-a motherboard that is connected to my power supply (corsair rm 650) via power connectors. I wanted to do a boot test so I connected my graphics card with my monitor via HDMI cable. I turned on the power noticed the following: 1- CPU fan started spinning 2- The graphics card's text lightened up. 3- The graphics card fans spin slooooowly (but that's because it won't spin until it reaches 60 c or something) The problem is, nothing shows up on my monitor. I need to see the BIOS in order to make sure I'm doing things right.. I have a feeling that the problem comes from the power connectors that connect my graphics card with my power supply.. I know I'm missing something that will most likely be sooo stupid but can anyone help??
  4. Sure I will be sticking with Windows 10, because I'm convinced that eventually it will come good. As for the drivers part, I'm not really sure. Maybe we will have to update the drivers once we fully upgrade to windows 10? Either way, since I'm going to start using the build soon, I'm going to install the windows 8.1 drivers.
  5. Hey guys Apparently Windows 10 will be released on the 29th of this month. I will complete my gaming build after tomorrow and I've decided that I am going to install Windows 10 in the system. The question is, is it possible for me to install Windows 8.1 pro and then upgrade to Windows 10 pro? For example, I can get Windows 8.1 right now for 35$ (from g2a.com), will I be able to upgrade to Windows 10 PRO? If so, I can save a lot of money. But I need to ask first before taking any action..
  6. Guess I will have to keep it in my room at the university's accommodation then. Oh well, I knew something like this might happen. Thanks guys!
  7. Hey Soon I will have to move in dorms and will have to get back to my parents house in weekends. I'm looking for computer cases that can fit in a computer travel bag or something. I don't know if something like that even exists but I really hope one of you guys know about them. I can't get a mini/micro ATX case because it's my first build and I don't like that type of cases. Even though I have no idea about which brand is better, I searched the internet and couldn't find decent choices or solutions. What I'm looking for is a mid tower case that won't have cooling problems and a way to protect my computer while traveling (for like 2.5 hours, that sucks..) back and forth safely without any damage. Any name and example will really help. Thanks
  8. Love how short and awesome this answer is. THANKS!
  9. Hi! I'm choosing parts for my first gaming PC, so far I've chosen almost every component apart from a case and a motherboard (took me a whole day, including reading articles, watching videos and benchmarks). I've searched and searched about motherboards and seem to have found a lot of results that can suit my components: i7-4790k 4 GHz Quad core processor Be quiet dark rock pro 3 g skill ddr3 ram (16 GB in total) Samsung SSD and a Seagate hybrid for storage GTX 980 ti super-clocked + ACX 2.0+ Corsair RM 650W 80+ fully modular Asus DRW -24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer I've found some reputable motherboards like the Asus Z87-Pro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard and Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Motherboard. Do you guys think they're good options? If you know motherboards who can suit me better please list them and tell me why. I don't know which one is best for me. I don't want to spend more than 240$ on a motherboard. I want it to have a good number of SATA 6 GB/S, standard input and output options , works well with my other components, accepts not so crazy overclocking and finally it can help me for future upgrades or something. Thanks!!
  10. Alright that's enough. I have a bigger picture now. Thanks to all of you, really loving the community here.
  11. Will look into that too, thanks! So do you recommend me not sticking with a 500-600 wattage choice despite that I don't need more than that?
