  1. I added a short video in original post to demonstrate issue. Removing all but one stick of RAM did not help. Any individual RAM stick in any slot and the problem persists. Clearing CMOS also didn't help.
  2. A quad channel ddr4 MB should boot with just one ram stick (1 of 8 lanes populated), correct? I'll try booting with just one stick in the primary lane tomorrow, alternating between all four. As the 5820k has no iGPU, I'll be forced to have at least one GPU installed to test as well.
  3. The freezing in BIOS is what confuses me.. Does that suggest a hardware / CPU issue? How does one test for a CPU problem if I can't even keep it from freezing to load a program to test it? Also, I had a modest CPU overclock to 4.2 gHz that was then removed and set to default settings in BIOS when the problem arose. Removing the overclock obviously did not help.
  4. Hi all. Really need help with this problem. I have a couple month old system I built with Asus X99-a MB, 5820k, 16gb DDR4 Ram in 4x 4 gb, EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid SLI, EVGA 1050G PSU, Corsair GTX H100i CPU cooler. In last 24 hours, both in BIOS and in Windows (Win10), my PC will freeze within 30 seconds of boot or upon clicking any icon to open a program. Even changing boot order in UEFI BIOS using mouse will freeze system right in BIOS. No new hardware or software installed recently, other than GPU drivers a few days back. I've taken out each stick of RAM individually and rebooted each time, disconnected all peripherals, removed each GPU individually, all to no effect on the problem. Looking for any insight or suggestions on what to try next. Thinking about flashing BIOS, but don't want it to freeze during update and brick my PC. May try BIOS flash without booting, only plugged in using flash utility on rear of Asus' MB's. Thanks for any advice!!https://vimeo.com/149954958https://vimeo.com/149957392
