  1. Thank you so much for referring this to me. I'll take a look at it and compare and contrast it with some of the other options.

  3. I would love to bring my own desktop or build a new one, as I'm aware that I can get something much more powerful for my budget, but I need something I can take with me to class. I appreciate all of the ideas, but I'm leaning towards the msi gs70 stealth pro right now with the Gtx 970m. Again, I'm opening up to any ideas for a 15.6 inch for around the same $1500-1800 area. If anyone has the msi gs70 stealth pro and would like to share their experience, please share below, I would love to know how it has held up to time.
  4. Yeah I'm fully aware of the heat issue, especially with males like myself, but I was going to buy a ventilation stand for it, not lay it directly on the bed or my lap. But over the past few hours I've been debating whether or not to give a 15 inch laptop a chance. After all I won't be gaming a lot on my laptop most likely and it will be easy to take almost everywhere with me. Any suggestions on something of similar price to the other two laptops I had in mind? If the razor blade is still $2000+ don't even bother bringing it up.
  5. Yes you are correct it does but me and my roommate are trying to fit a TV and Xbox into the only space available for anything of the sort. The laptop will allow me to just play in my bed or a small couch or something. Still haven't moved in yet but I know for a fact I can't fit the desktop in there.
  6. Already have a desktop at my house and there is no way I can fit one into my room in college, and I bought a surface 3 for simple note taking and media surfing. The whole point of getting one of these powerhouse laptops is to do some gaming and run programs in class. I do understand why battery life will be something to care for, and I would also like to more about this razer. I'm looking for a 17 inch laptop. If you are referring to the razer 2015 15 inch that I'm thinking of, then it probably won't be high on my list. I would like the screen to be 17 inches and I guess somewhat portable. As we talk about it more, I'm leaning towards the msi since it's the most portable 17inch laptop inconvenience think of, of course that fits the requirements.
  7. The main purpose is going to be for gaming, that is why I chose two options with exceptional GPUs and components, however I'm aware about the subpar battery life in both and that is not a concern. I'm just worried that if I buy the gs70 stealth pro it won't last me the 4 years I'll be in college.
  8. Budget is about $1800, location is going to Miami University
  9. Hello everyone, I am an upcoming college student that is looking for a new, and powerful laptop. I have done a lot of research so far and narrowed down my search to two laptops. These two are the MSI gs70 stealth pro and the Asus g751-jt. I will be doing some (maybe a lot of) gaming and want something that can not only fit that criteria but also something I can carry to class if needed for engineering classes. I would definitely choose the MSI no doubt, but I have read some things about the build quality and the heat issues that concern me. Vice-versa, I would get the Asus no doubt if I didn't have to take it to some classes. I'm not sure how it will feel to carry that thing around with me for some time, if not all day. Thanks and please let me know what your thoughts are!
