  1. I have four internal hard drives that I use apart from my SSD. Two of them are WD Black 4TB purchased not more than a couple of months ago. Just before the fresh install of my OS, they worked completely fine, no issues with loading or anything. After the install, the initial loading takes some time but after that it seems to loosen up. It's as if the OS needs/wants to cache the hard drive first. It just seems odd that with the fresh install that all of my four hard drives would suddenly go bad.
  2. I recently installed a fresh Windows 7 Pro on a Samsung 850 Pro 1TB and I'm experiencing the following problem: When I start the computer and try to access one of the other hard drives in the system, it takes from 10-20 seconds to load. After that the respective hard drive is fast and responsive, but sometimes, depending on the folder I try to enter, it may take another 20-30 seconds before it opens. This goes for the recycling bin as well, more than often it will take some time to load the first time in a while and it's rather frustrating. Since I haven't experienced this ever before the fresh install I figured that it might had to do with the drivers for the mobo. I've installed them all from the ASUS website but still no noticable change. So what do you guys think? Where should I start troubleshooting? Any tips or info is highly appreciated! :-)
  3. Okay, I have now tried the old PSU and CS:GO works again. I was able to play uninterrupted for quite a while. So I'm drawing the conclusion that the problem actually is with the new PSU, unfortunately. It sucks that I now have to uninstall and install the PSUs again until a replacement arrives but oh well. When the replacement comes, I'll be sure to test it outside the system first.
  4. When I got the games working with the power management mode fix I played CS:GO for some time and CPU reached 65 degress and the GPU around 65-70, I would guess that it's okay?
  5. Your right, I could just make some space for it to sit beside the case, that would make it a bit easier and I wouldn't have to change everything. Still, that damn CPU power connection, haha. That is exactly what I though as well. I initially purchased a different CX600M for my computer and it was faulty, causing the computer to shutdown without warning after playing demanding games (BF4) for a little while. So I would expect the same here if the problem is the voltage/power, but no, I can CTRL+ALT+DEL and shut down the game via taskmanager without any problems.
  6. Yeah, that is what I fear I have to do, a bit of work though. My CPU power connector isn't the easiest to plug into with the NH-U12S in the way but yeah. I guess it would at least rule out the PSU in case it works. I so wish I would've tested games when I just installed it, since that would've been pretty much definite.
  7. First of all, my current setup: CPU: INTEL CORE i7 4770 3,4GHz Socket 1150 Motherboard: ASUS Z87M-PLUS Z87 S-1150 M-ATX RAM: CORSAIR 16GB DDR3 VENGEANCE PRO RED 2400MHZ (2X8GB) x2 GPU: GIGABYTE GEFORCE GTX 660 OC 2GB PCI-E DVI/HDMI/DP Storage: SASMUNG 850 Pro MZ-7KE1T0BW 1TB PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W Cooling: NOCTUA NH-U12S WITH EXTRA NF-F12 I recently purchased the G2 to replace my Corsair CX600M and after installing it on friday it seemed to work perfectly fine, no problems at all. I didn't think of testing to play games or run any advanced test on the graphics card, unfortunately. (At that time I was running Windows 7 Home) On saturday I upgraded my storage from a 840 EVO to the 850 Pro and installed Windows 10 = major problems. BSOD several times, and seemingly random (trying to pin a program in the startmenu for example). Even an ad or a video playing on YouTube would cause a crash/forced restart, let alone playing games. I thought at first that perhaps Windows 10 was the problem but changing the power management mode in NVIDIAs control panel did make the crashes less frequent, although while testing CS:GO it would lag (not a problem with the internet connection) and random black screen for a second or so. Following this I decided to abandon Windows 10 for Windows 7 Pro (I like W7 a lot more), I did a fresh install of that on a separate 850 PRO, installed all the updates from Windows Update and downloaded the latest NVIDIA driver, and the crashing/freezing of playing games is back. And that is where I'm at for the moment. Now I'm wondering what to do next. Can the PSU be the problem? Should I go to the trouble of re-doing all my cablemanagement to test with my old CX600M? Could it be a drivers issue? Since the fresh install I haven't been able to fetch MOBO drivers from ASUS webpage since it seems to be down at the moment, could that affect this? Any tips on what to do would be greatly appreciated! :-)
  8. Thanks for your answers! I'm leaning towards the D15S since I have room for it in my 600T, and its bigger so it will look more bad ass. Too bad it's not available for purchase right now, at least not in Sweden. (Tbh: I didn't realise it (D15S) was brand new when I posted this topic)
  9. Okay so I tried GTA V the other day and noticed that the CPU temperature maxed out around 85-86 C and I thought: Enough of this, time to replace that stock cooler. I've purchased Noctua fans before and have been really impressed. Currently I'm looking at three CPU coolers wondering which would give me best performance and least amount of problems: NH-D15S -> http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=112&lng=en NH-U12S -> http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=63&lng=en NH-U9S -> http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=105&lng=en My first post here, so I guess I should post my specs as well: INTEL CORE I7 4770 3.4GHZ 8MB S-1150 ASUS Z87M-PLUS Z87 S-1150 M-ATX CORSAIR 16GB DDR3 VENGEANCE PRO RED 2400MHZ (2X8GB) GIGABYTE GEFORCE GTX 660 OC 2GB PCI-E DVI/HDMI/DP CORSAIR GRAPHITE 600TM BLACK SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB SATA SSD TLC SATA-600 2.0TB 7200RPM 64MB - SEAGATE BARRACUDA CORSAIR CX 600W M BRONZE ATX12V 2.3 MODULAR PSU Because of the M-ATX mobo I want to get a CPU cooler that wont interfer with the PCI-E slot or the RAM slots. And after checking compability on Noctuas website for the three coolers they all seem to be no problem for my Z87M-PLUS. Now the question is: Which of the three should I purchase? I'll take all the advice/opinions I can get! I should perhaps mention that I'm not planning on overclocking my system at all, ain't nobody got time for that. Thanks!
