  1. I used the given CD to install all my drivers. Except for my video card driver, which I went to the website and downloaded the drivers for that. So all my drivers are probably a little old, so I'm manually updating them now.
  2. Sorry, I thought 4.4 was the base speed. I don't know why. It's at the base speed of 4.0. I'm having problems editing the original post so I can't change it.
  3. I just finished my new PC (as was described in my previous thread), but I've ran into a number of issues whenever I try to play any games. Right now, I've played League of Legends, Rocket League, and CS:GO on my new PC and I have had the same problems with every game. There is a lot of stuttering in game. For example, whenever I shoot or get shot in CS:GO my game just seems to skip a frame or two multiple times. It's actually getting quite frustrating because I don't even know where to begin when it comes to fixing this. The graphics card I have right now (EVGA GTX 980 SC) was in my previous PC and I had no problems with it then. List of components: Asus Z170-A Motherboard EVGA GTX 980 SC i7-6700k @ 4.4 GHz (base speed) 2x8 GB Corsair Vengeance @ 2666 MHz EVGA 600 Watt 80+ Bronze Windows 7 Home Premium I checked temps I haven't seen anything higher than 55 degrees Celsius. I was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose the problem with my PC. All I've gathered is that I do not believe the graphics card is the problem. I've also noticed that when I go into device manager and try to update the drivers online it will search indefinitely and never update anything at all.
  4. Okay, thanks. This is pretty much what I thought would happen.
  5. So I checked it out in the BIOS and I found that yes Legacy USB Support is by default enabled. Next, I went and changed XHCI Hand-off from Disabled to Enabled. However, looking at that guide you linked for Windows 7 installation, all of the methods require the Asus disk. So from my understanding there is pretty much no way to do this without the disk?
  6. I have no idea WHAT those are or where to find them. Only thing I found is that I can update my BIOS with my USB drive. No, I did not because I left my Asus CD at home.
  7. I have one, but I left the disc at home and I don't want to take a 4 hour trip to get it.
  8. My keyboard and mouse are plugged into the USB 3.0's. Right now, I am sitting here with my USB plugged into one of the 2,0's in the back and it is not being recognized.
  9. I have tried all of my USB ports and 2 different USBs. It will not recognize it in any of them.
  10. A good idea, however I have already attempted this. It is not showing up under Disk Management.
  11. Everytime I post here you guys have the best solutions, so here it goes again. I just built a new PC and left home without the motherboard CD with me. So I now have a fresh copy of Windows 7 with no drivers. Which would be fine because I have a USB, but the problem is it does not recognize it. So I have my drivers all on my USB but my PC won't recognize it. I went into the BIOS and saw that my motherboard DID recognize that my USB was there, but Windows won't I was wondering if there is some black magic I can do to fix all of this without having to drive many hours back home to get a CD. The Motherboard is Asus Z170-a (this thing: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_Download/)
  12. Okay, I disabled Hibernate. I also did this to the virtual memory settings: I'm hoping this is all good
  13. I believe I have found the problem Looks like there are tons of backups that got skipped when I ran that other program. I'll probably just delete all the backups other than the first and most recent one. You guys are awesome. BUT, when I ran this on the drive with my OS, I found these dudes: I know hiberfil.sys is used for Hibernation, but what about the other one? Is there a way I can limit these in anyway? Edit: Okay, so now I know exactly what both do. What do you guys recommend I do? I don't think I need 16 GB of my SSD to be dedicated to virtual memory consider I have 16 GB of RAM. I am considering disabling Hibernation so I don't have hiberfil.sys since I almost never use hibernation anyways.
