  1. That was more than enough for me to take my decision, thanks dude, i'll definitely keep this system until i build a DDR4 system. C:
  2. Why do you think this is the better choice? I could get "instant" performance buying the DDR3 System. Why is worth the wait? Thanks for the attention C:
  3. Hi guys, i'll start saying that i'm Brazilian, so my english isn't very good, but anyway. Here goes my current (gaming intended) build: - C3 Tech 430W PSU (It's good, actually) - ECS G31T-M7 7.0 (DDR2 - LGA 775) - 3Gb of DDR2 667Mhz (1x2Gb & 1x1Gb) - LGA 775 Modded Xeon X5460 3,16Ghz (OC'd to 3,8Ghz) - Galax GTX 1060 3 Gb - 1080p Monitor So, you may be thinking that this build is really old, and i sure agree with you, but since here in Brazil PC hardware prices are up on the clouds, this is what i have at the moment, and it performs really well for the investment. The reason i've come here, is the fact that i've met a wall in this hardware performance when i tried to play Battlegrounds, not being able to pass the match loading screen due to RAM capacity and performance, i guess. This build is surely underrated, since i can play DayZ on MAX settings at 1080p with 40-70FPS, or BF3 Ultra 1080p 90-130FPS on SP, so it isn't that weak, but i've noticed that even though these games run well in frames, they stutter every second and then, and some in specific cases, like when turning my view to unrendered areas or coming to unloaded scenarios, making me pretty sure it's a RAM problem, since GPU and CPU almost never get on the 100% use mark. So, i've been asking myself, how to solve this, since it's a old build and my Mobo have 2 DIMM's slots only, and DDR2 sticks are limited to 2Gb each on Intel systems, which leave me on 2 main choices: -> Buying 2x2Gb 800Mhz RAM for a improved performance (40U$ equivalent), and save money for a DDR4 build in 6 months (700~800U$ equivalent) -> Buy a DDR3 LGA 775 Mobo and use 8Gb of RAM to solve the problem now, and keep the system for 1 year or more (200U$ equivalent) Keep in mind that this is more a time focused choice, than budget limited! Help me out! Thanks for your attention! C:
  4. I'm aware that's a old plataform, but it quite cheap for the performance, since my budget is low. This build is for gaming, and it's quite strong, running most games on High~Ultra 1080p. The problem i need to overcome now, is RAM capacity, so that's why i'm looking for a new DDR3 Mobo. C:
  5. I'll start saying that my english is quite bad, but anyway. Hi guys, I usually know my way around PC hardware in general to solve my problems, but now i'm kinda confused by something, and cant really find a Mobo for my needs, so I came here asking if you could help with the following: - Suggest me a LGA 775 DDR3 Mobo for my modded X5460 (The legendary budget CPU) - I'm confused about FSB at the moment, why does the CPU and the Mobo have FSB clocks? If the CPU FSB is higher, it won't work? What if they are the same? The processor can't overclock? So, i'm quite lost trying to take a decision. I'm "upgrading" my PC and I'll leave my current build down below: (Remember, this is a budget build) - 430W C3 Tech (It's actually good) - G31T-M7 7.0 (DDR2 LGA 775) - Xeon X5460 3,16Ghz (I pretend to overclock it on a new Motherboard) - Galax GTX 1060 3Gb - 1x 2Gb DDR2 RAM / 1x 1Gb DDR2 RAM (Here's my the reason to change Mobo, can't find 4Gb sticks for Intel systems, só i thought it would be a good ideia to "upgrade" to DDR3, since RAM capacity is starting to be a problem) If you read all this way, i'm already thankfull for your attention. C:
  6. Wow, i swear that i looked on the internet for hours these last two days looking for something like that, and you just showed me what i was looking for in 5min, haha. Thank you so much Aytex, not just for the Mobo recommendation, but thanks for your time also, i know what look for the rest of my PC now. Thanks Again
  7. I'm not really updated with the latest hardware, so i don't really know. Does the higher RAM clocks really influence performance? Like 3000Mhz or more? I am probably going with i5 6600k, and i plan to do some overclocking, yes. A motherboard with a decent onboard audio would be nice too. c:
  8. So, i'm new to the forum here, and i'm brazilian, so excuse me for my english, in advance. I'm saving money for some time now, and i want to build a decent gamer PC, and i would like some help from you guys, who know way more than me these days. Anyway, i want to build a PC around a Intel i5 6600k or a i5 4690k, and play on a Ultrawide Monitor LG 25' monitor. I plan to get a GTX 1070 FTW DT later down the road, but before all that, i wanted to know what motherboard would you guys recommend me, i'm really lost right now trying to find one that will be a good one with this PC. I don't know exactly what to look on different motherboards to choose one that's appropriate, but i wanted a DDR4, 4 RAM slots, and 1 PCI-E x16. What could you guys recommend me? PS: I'm not rich, but if you're going to suggest a motherboard, don't bother about the price. c:
  9. Hey guys, i did another forum topic 2 days ago, to solve a temperature problem that i had with my CPU, and the results were great, i actually did make it a lot cooler by cleaning the PC and changing the thermal paste. So now i'm back asking for help to Overclock it. I could say that i know a bit about PC's in general, but i know only the theory behind overclocking, so i don't know how i could do it. : / Here i'm showing you the how CPU is running The CPU cooler starts to increase it's RPM when the temperature reaches 70ºC. Lower than that, it keeps running at 800~900RPM, and i wish i could control the RPM, but i didn't risk to do it yet, that's something i also needed help to do. As you can see here, the CPU runs at 2.7 GHz at max, and its multiplier goes from 6-10x So now i'm asking for someone who can explain how the overclocking process is, and if i can actually do it without high risks. I can provide more info about the PC if necessary. Thank you for your time. PS: Sorry for bad english, i'm Brazilian.
  10. Hey Guys, i'm back, and look at the results ! IDLE 100% And the Final Comparison now: I really want to thank you all for the tips and for giving me the direction, the CPU is a lot cooler now. But there's something i wanted to change, i saw that the CPU RPM starts to increase at 70ºC. Could i make this setting lower ? Can i control the CPU fan RPM manually ? Thank you very much, i really appreciate the tips.
  11. Ok Guys, thanks for the help, i'm going to clean it and buy a thermal paste and see how it goes. I will report later here. PS:
  12. Hi everyone, i just created my account here on the Forum, and i'm kind of concerned about the temperature of my CPU since yesterday, when i was doing some Stress Tests to do some overclocking for some extra performance. The reason i wanted that, is because my PC is having a performance drop over the last year, but now i'm starting to think that it's actually because of its temperature. I already dropped the overclocking option, so now i just want to ask you guys: What can i do to keep it cooler without having to buy new gear ? If you're seeing this, i'm already thanking you for your time. PS: Sorry for the bad English, i'm Brazilian. As you can see, it still hot in comparison to what i saw on it's temperature range. And at full work, it heats really fast, in 1 minute it already reaches 100ºC.
