  1. I did spot it yeah, but I want go to NVIDIA for the G-Sync and Super Resolution. Value retention is not so important seeing as this build will last me at lest 5 years hopefully. I will be multitasking a lot yes, I'm a Product Designer and running Photoshop, Illustrator and 3D CAD programes like Alias Automotive dose need the 16GB RAM. Would you say that 760W SPU is overkill too?
  2. I might want to overclock later on and the price difference is $50 for an OC motherboard, so i would do it. But this is beside the point. I want to get some clear advice on the components here > http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/F88q6h Are better things that can be suggested that are around the same price?
  3. okay cool, goood point! Something like the MSI Z170A Gaming Pro motherboard then? what would you say to the rest of the components?
  4. okay, this isn't what I'm looking for. I've been with AMD for five years now and want to try something different. I also don't like the Fractal Design Case, I want some the looks good and a quiet case too. Which is why I'm going with H440 case. I'm looking for advice with the part I've picked really, not a whole new build. I want to check i'm on the right track really...
  5. Helloooo, Could you give my plan for my next PC a look over, I know about the GTX 1070 release and the GTX 980 price will drop and that 1070 will offer better performance too. I'm just looking for advice as to weather this will be good build and if there is anything overkill or something better for the price. oh and by the way is a red themed build too http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/zLrsHx
  6. I was planning for in a month time or so, not for the next 3 weeks at least.
  7. Okay cool, I have to wait until 1070 release anyway. (i need to get paid first) I've made a few changes to the list, i7 6700k and GTX 980 (for now, depending on the price drop after the 1070 release). What PSU would be less overkill? something around the 650W mark? I would like it to be modular so I get some sleeved cables, anything you would recommend? If i could get some feedback on this build please. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/zLrsHx James
  8. Hello, I'm planning my next build at the moment, i've got covered most of the peripherals at the moment. But its the hardware I need some feedback or guidance with. I've linked the PCpartpicker list of what I'm considering, not is ordered yet and I'd like some advice as to weather is a 'worthy' build for the money. If you know or can suggest better hardware for around the budget it would be great, the only confining factor is its a red themed build. I'm aiming for a frame rate when gaming, good for content create (Photoshop, illustrator, recording and editing) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mhj7rH Thank you, James

    Fan Splitter

Hello, I'm upgrading my cases air cooling system at the moment, but i have ran out of fan headers. I have three 4pin chassis fan headers and one cpu fan header on the motherboard, which is a Asus M5a97 R2.0. Once all my part arrive I will be using one 4pin headers for rear exhaust, one 4pin for front intake, the CPU header and then I have one remaining 4pin for two top exhaust fans. So should I get a splitter for the final 4pin connector to run my two Corsair 120mm AF fans? The fans have 3pin plugs on them so can I get 4pin splitter and leave one pin unused? If so can can anyone recommend a splitter that will work for me... I found this on Amazon, is this correct? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005FWXWPS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE Thank you James
  10. Hey vSyNd1c4te Had two quick questions for you, if that's okay? I currently running a Asus M5a97 R2.0 as you know. I know that the motherboard only has 1 CPU 4 pin and 3 Chassis 4 pin connectors. I have one free Chassis 4pin free at the moment, but i will be installing two Corsair AF 120mm fans in the top of my case. What adapter do i need to run two fans off one 4 pin header? Thank again James
  11. Cheers for all the help vSyND, big help man! I'll go from 4x4GB i think fill all the slots, i don't feel comfortable mixing my old with the new. Plus i'll save about $15 - $20 getting 4x4GB over 2x8GB. Then i have spares just in-case anything goes wrong, and i'll start a new thread in the mean time.... Can send you private message if i need any help later on down the line? I promise it wont be a message every 15minutes Thanks again James
  12. You are correct mate! It has got four slots, that's my bad! I would like to get two Vengeance 8GB, could use my current RAM cards along with the two 8GB cards? Would that give me 20GB RAM? or wouldn't that work? (i know 20GB is a bit crazy but i would have two RAM cards as back ups) Filling all RAM slots doesn't have any effect over two empty right? Its just an aesthetic thing.... I would buy red ones for now, but case has red LED's and a Red CPU fan on it and i would buy a red motherboard in the future. Also i'm not buying from the USA as i'm living in England. But thank you for the store links as this give me a price outline. James
  13. Not confusing at all vSyND! Im liking your fast response time too! If i was to go for some like a Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, this would fill both of my slots and give me 16GB at the same time. I personally don't mind having two empty when i upgrade my motherboard, this would also give me space for more RAM if need be or because i can, But could my CPU and mother board handle this increase of RAM? Or would upgrading my CPU at the same time be better? and would it be as simple as just clip the RAM in and go? Finally; i like your suggestion of the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ATX LGA1150 Motherboard and the i5-4690K CPU, would this RAM be a good match for these components? Forgive my intolerance! James
  14. I thank you for all of your imput, but vSynd seems to have the closes ideas to what i wish to get ouit of my upgrade. Could i start with upgrading my RAM now only? Thern doing the rest a later date? if so what would be recommended, bare in mind i only have two slots and want 8GB or 12Gb. So what RAM would you recommend to work with my Asus M5A97 mother board? James
  15. Thanks a lot for the feed back guys, much appreciated. In terms of what speed or timing my RAM is running at, i have no idea! I'm not sure how to check things like this, but i'll do some research and see if i can find out. I have 2x2GB Corsair sticks in the motherboard', so to get up to 8GB or 16GB i would need motherboard (i have no more available slots. I would like to have at least 8GB of RAM, but have the space to go up to 12 or 16 in the future. So by the looks of it the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ATX LGA1150 Motherboard would be a good choice for me, I know the board is well received and rated. I've attached some files from a CPU-Z test, i have no idea what is good or bad or which number i need to read, some help would be great! James
