  1. Thanks for the info. Didn't even know they exist. I'm gonna look into this a little more. Has anybody got any recommendations?
  2. *bump* Is it the only thing i can do? Any further ideas? My question still remains. Doesn't it take away air from the GPU fans if I put an outtake right next to it? I mean it cant be cooled by air that doesnt exist.
  3. No you are absolutely right. Brain fart on my end there. Obviously the load would be enough.
  4. It is a dispersion cooler (MSI R9 390). I have a Corsair RM650. There might be a problem because the fan starts spinning at 40% load and is, as far as i know, not linked to the temperature.
  5. I need an advice on how to improve the airflow in my case. Here is a picture of my system layout. Instead of the 240x120 radiator in the front i got an 120x120 with 2 fans and a single 120 fan on the bottom, all of them intake. I also have one 120 fan on top in the back which is outtake. My problem now is that i have an r9 390 and, as you might know, it produces crazy amounts of heat. What makes it worse is that the card is so big that it basically cuts my system in half and creates two seperate air chambers. The top half is cooled fairly well because of the outtake fan but the bottom half between the graphics card and the PSU gets really hot. Right now I have a 120 fan strapped to the outside of the case between GPU and PSU and it reduces the temperature by about 10 degrees. I thought I could buy two 60mm fans and put them at the back between the PSU and graphics card as outtake. My concern however is that they maybe blow out the heat but they will compete with the fans of the graphics card as they take the air from the same space. What can I do to cool the case? Does it make sense to turn the PSU and have the fan on top?
  6. Thanks, despite the obvious discord you guys actually helped me in the end. I'll take the R9 390 because of the small performance gain and because it fits perfectly into my build. If you are interested, I'm going to buy these components next week: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i GT 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($101.99 @ B&H) Motherboard: MSI Z97M Gaming Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($136.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Kingston Savage 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($55.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($97.95 @ OutletPC) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($48.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card ($329.98 @ SuperBiiz) Case: BitFenix Pandora MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($128.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($106.24 @ Amazon) Monitor: Dell U2515H 60Hz 25.0" Monitor ($396.99 @ Amazon) Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70 Wired Gaming Keyboard ($119.88 @ OutletPC) Total: $1743.88 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-07-26 11:38 EDT-0400
  7. My case only allows sli/crossfire with a maximum of 2 2-slot cards. The 390 is 3 slot. I also wont buy a gsync or freesync monitor. Why would i pay 400€+ for the monitor and cheap out on the graphics card? My conclusion until now: MSI 390 (350€): -faster in 1440p (because of vram) -cheaper Zotac 970 Extreme Core (380€): -low power consumption -Shadowplay (kind of important, not that much) -possibly best 970 out there (inc. overclock because it has a really high clock out of the factory) New contender: Gigabyte 970 G1 (360€): -low power consumption -Shadowplay -high overclocking potential (which is always dangerous because potential is not definite) So my problem in the end is that reviews are absolutely contradictory. Most sources I found said the Zotac 970 is the best 970 on the market. Some say the cooler is loud, some say its the best cooler, they say the card is nearly inaudible. The same goes for the gigabyte 970. If i cant rely on reviews because they seem biased on what source am i supposed to base my decision?
  8. I am sure you guys are already tired of the 970 vs 390 topic but I am a little lost here. I want to go for a 1440p monitor so the VRAM issue might be a thing in my case. At the beginning I was set on the 970 because most reviews hyped its high clockspeed, extremely good cooler and low power consumption. But then I saw JayzTwoCents' video and some reviews popped up that contradict the ones I read about the 970 before. They say the cooler is loud and that its not the fastest 970 on the market. I do consider overclocking my videocard so is there a big difference in that point? Also the 390 is about 30 € cheaper than the 970.
  9. I wish there was a 27" version of it. I'd get it instantaneously.
  10. Okay so I switched things up to make it a little cheaper. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($238.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($69.99 @ NCIX US) Motherboard: MSI Z97M Gaming Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($139.99 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($60.89 @ OutletPC) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($97.89 @ OutletPC) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($48.75 @ OutletPC) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card ($339.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: BitFenix Pandora MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($126.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: SeaSonic 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($66.60 @ Newegg) Monitor: Dell U2414H 60Hz 23.8" Monitor ($267.00 @ B&H) Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70 Wired Gaming Keyboard ($119.95 @ Amazon) Total: $1557.03 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-05-31 10:48 EDT-0400 The MSI 970 is apperently also pretty good at overclocking and 8 gb of RAM should be enough. But I absolutely have no clue about the monitor as my local stores don't have them. 27 inch might be a little to expensive (and mabye the 1080p are not enough, heck I dont know).
  11. Then I only have one question left. The Samsung S24D590 also looks nice and is a lot cheaper. Which one would you get?
  12. I have no idea how much difference 3ms response time make. The U2414H has 8ms (and is obviously only 1080p but thats to be expected from 24")
  13. I'm going to get a new computer for this summer and I need a new monitor for gaming, text-editing, movies and photoshop/3d animation. I care a lot about aesthetics and it should preferably be 25-27 inch. My general budget is 250€ (I live in Germany) but if you find something that is absolutely perfect (like the http://skinflint.co.uk/dell-ultrasharp-u2515h-210-adzg-...) please show me. I already asked this in another thread (about my whole planned system) but I didn't get any suggestions about the display.
  14. Is there a big difference between the evo and the standard m12II-620? http://geizhals.at/?fs=Sea+Sonic+M12II-620&in= EDIT: I heard that the stock coolers that corsair ships with their h80i are pretty loud. But I could try without the quiet edition first.
  15. Oh I will definately look if I can use the antec. I already thought about custom cables for the looks, I just dont know if it fits in my budget. Thanks for the input.
