  1. Specs: Windows 10 64 8700k Dark rock pro 3 16gb trident z ddr4 3200 Dark power pro titanium 800wa Asus 370z strix - e Samsung 960 evo m.2 Wd black m.2 Msi Duke 1080 Be quiet dark something 900 case (white edidtion) Built the pc a while back. Worked fine. Just moved a ways away. Fired the system back up. Worked fine. Cpu overheating message. Shut system off. Boot in BIOS. Cpu temp and voltage start rising. Shut down. Lay pc on it's back, remove tempered glass. Notice missing mb screw. Find it. Put it back in. Turn on pc (while still on its back). Temp normal. Let run for 10 min. Still normal. Put it right side up. Temp and voltage creep up. Push cpu cooler up, temps and voltage go down. Tighten cpu cooler to mb. No improvement. Should I remove the cooler and inspect the cpu?
  2. I do not currently have a GPU in the system. I am using the only HDMI port on the MB.
  3. I have been using this monitor as a second monitor for my laptop and have not had this issue at all. It's only happened with the new pc.
  4. No, as far as I can tell its just Speakers in monitor via HDMI cable.
  5. Hello all, I have recently built my first PC and I'm having audio issues. When I first boot the PC I can play audio fine for about 2 or 3 minutes and then all I get is a popping/crackling/clipping sound. I have an HDMI cable from my MB to an external monitor (used the same cable and monitor with my old rig) for video and sound. My Specs: OS: Windows 10/64bit CPU: i7 8700k MB: Asus Strix 370z - E gaming CPU Cooler: Dark Rock pro PSU: Dark power pro 850 SSD 1: Samsung 960 pro 512gb nvme SSD 2: WD Black 512gb nvme RAM: 16gb Trident Z 3200mz Case: (if it matters) Dark Base Pro 900 (White) GPU: waiting on MSI 1080ti Duke to be back in stock somewhere.... What I've tried: Turning it off and turning back on again Googling my problem Disabling audio devices, turning it back on and off again, re-enabling audio devices Giving the PC some space to work out its problems Updating Windows Updating Integrated Graphics (Which includes the Intel (R) Display Driver: The one I'm pretty sure is responsible for the audio transfer to my display) Restarting some more Uninstalling Intel (R) Display, restarting, and re-installing) Plugging the PC directly into the wall socket instead of a surge protector Trying not to get frustrated Checking cable connections Trying a different cable Seeing if Linus had a video about this Any help, tips, reiterations, software, hardware, work arounds, or fixes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.
  6. Hi, After years of planning im finally in a spot to build my first PC and go way overboard with it because yeah! Ive got all of my parts picked out except for the cpu cooler and Im not sure which one to go with because Im not sure how much clearance Im going to have with the ram. Im building in a Dark Base 900 Pro White and Ill be cooling a 7700k on a Asus Hero Maximus board with 32 gigs (16×2) of Dominator platinum (3200) memory. I initially wante to use the Dark Rock frim be quiet but Im not sure if it will fit and Im not entirely sure how to figure it out. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated. Price is no object. Thank you!
  7. Preface: First PC Build, am noob, send halp. 1. I'm looking to spend up to $2,000 US 2. The system will be used for digital audio workstations/music production (Digital Performer 9, ableton, MAX MSP, Cuebass) and to store the sound libraries for those programs. It will also be used for video editing and gaming..of course. 3. I plan on using 3 monitors, I don't need anything too over the top as far as resolution, 1080 is fine, but I would like the color to be quality. 4. I have the mouse and keyboard I need, but would be in the market for some studio reference speakers and a DAC. 5. I'm building this because I'm graduating from college and I'm used to having access to pretty good computers to do work on and I will need my own to work now that I have graduated. *I prefer intel and I'm willing to go a bit over the budget to have a quality system. I'd also like it to run as cool and quiet as possible. Many thanks!
  8. Very well made quiz and a very helpful thread! The quiz said I may like the clears as well, so I'll have to look into the WASD Code. Are there any other keyboards with the clears that you can recommend?
  9. Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the mechanical keyboard world but I have done a fair amount of research and I seem to be stuck on what to get. I'm looking for a full keyboard to use for both typing and gaming. I think I would like to have something: Well made and durable With Cherry MX Clears A few Macros USB and audio ports And back lit Keys. (RGB optional) Price is no object, although I would like to keep it under $300 USD, and I would really appreciate any suggestions, advice, or experiences as this is my first dive into the mechanical keyboard world. Thank you all very much!
