  1. how about this Dell Alienware 17 R3 (i7-6820HK/16GB/1TB + 512GB/GeForce GTX 980M 8GB/UHD/W10) and ill add 16gb of ram. its price tag is 3.275,00 € . is it too much?
  2. Hello boys my macbook died the other day. so im going to buy a new laptop. take into consideration that i also have a powerfull desktop for heavy duty My needs: Word, excel etc Video Prod ( Premier pro or final cut) A litlle bit of gaming when im out of town and also for game dev. and animation. Mostly Maya 3ds and unreal engine. Do you have something to suggest? I have a wide budget. I was thinking about a macbook again or a razer blade(?)
  3. your opinion was very nice and made me reconsider some thing. the problem is in my country we dont have any providers for servers, so im gonna build it my own. i have i background in normal pcs but never with servers or rendering machines. Some engines need Cpus and others need Gpus some need cuda other need open gl. Building a server like this wouldn't be better than just a 5960X? +i need that extra ram power
  4. @Lavish ily <3 but i think the motherboard has not that many sata-ports to support all these ssd disks *overbudget cause the monitors cost 15.000 buuuuuuut next month i will know if 60K will be over budget or not gl to me
  5. @DarkBlade2117 probably i will set 2 machines. one render/unreal/3D with xeon cpu's and one with 5960x with triple titan x for 3x1440p 144hz monitors ty for the help
  6. should i go like with one m6000 for rendering one 2x titan x for gaming sometimes and one firepro for the open gl?
  7. @Electronics Wizardy i saw like bench and in 3DS max m6000 was like 40 seconds faster than the titan x in rendering
  8. @Aytex i have the budget to go even for a 5960X i think k m6000 quadro would be a good choice i just saw a 3d max bench
  9. Hey, So i won a Game Developing contest in my country. Its a game about being active and not a observer in bullying situations. I'm planning to sell the game to some country's for educational reasons. My current specs are: Intel Core i7 4820K Gtx 980 and 18 *yes 18* GB of ddr3 1333 Ram. Now that the game is getting tons of attention from country's my plan was to make it even bigger. *its like 5 mins of gameplay max.* I tried with my machine but after 30.000 meshes i cant build lights any more in high quality, the engine stops responding and it take a ton of time to render. So with the money i got im planning to make the most price>performance build that even our lord linus cant dream about. If you could help me choose it would be perfect. So. CPU: 2X Intel Xeon 2697v3 or 2X Intel Xeon 2699v3 GPU's: 4X Gtx Titan X or *say your opinion here:P* i was thinking also the Quadro M6000? *what about tesla gpu's?* Motherboard: Asus Z10PE-D16 WS. 4 pci3.0x16 slots. *ik the last one gets hidden by the cooler but all the cards will be watercooled.* RAM: So i dont know why but the RAM specs are these: 16 x DIMM, Max. 1024GB, DDR4 2133/1866/1600 MHz RDIMM, LR-DIMM, NVDIMM Memory. the 1024gb means 64gb per slot and i was like WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? I don't know about ram outside the normal computers and i'm not well informed about DDR4 help will be needed. PSU: I got one Corsair AX1200i. Will this be enough? For w/c also. Or should i go with his 1500w. brother? CASE: Corsair 900D? It has tons of fan positions for the water cooling loop. HDD/SSD's: I'm not sure about this. i got 10 sata 3 ports. My thoughts were: 8X Intel 2TB DCP3500 SSD's and 2X Hitachi Ultrastar He6 6TB discs. Any thoughts how would you do this? At last i will need help to choose the blocks for the cpu watercooling loop and the rads brand you recomend Thank you
  10. ow thats some big numbers there uhm so it can go with an quadro m6000 and what about the cpu's?
  11. Hey *btw sorry for my english* so im planning to start a new build the last year im into game developing and this is what i want to study in 2 years the last 3 months im developing a game for my school project and i got some problems cause of the slow render, the high temperatures, the noise and all of this while having an i7 4820K and a h100i i want a build to last for 5-6 years and perform well my budget is not limited so i figured out 3 different builds for cpus i choose xeon more cores than 5960X and i dont loose any performance on games the problem is the gpu i want to have cuda cores but in the same time open gl the only gpus that give me this option are quadro but i loose much in gaming so here comes directx 12 and gives me the chance to go on a hybrid nvidia/amd machine 1st build 2x Intel Xeon E5 2650 V3 Asus Z10PE-D16 WS 32 GB of ddr4 RAM @2400MHz 2 GTX980 kingpin edition 2 r9 290x2 (or 390X) i choose the kingping edition because if u see the motherboard has 6pci lanes that are close and if u add one card you cant use the next pci lane and in the end you will have 3 pci lanes to use the kingpin card as linus said if it gets watercooled it only takes one pci slot on the motherboard and leaves space for a quad gpu orientation 2nd build *the linus extreme build* An Intel Xeon 2699 v3 Asus Rampage V 32GB of ddr4 RAM @2400Mhz 2 Gtx Titan X 2 r9 290x2 (or 390X) 3rd build 2x Intel Xeon E5 2650 V3 Asus Z10PE-D16 WS 32 GB of ddr4 RAM @2400MHz 2 GTX Titan X 1 r9 290x2 (or 390X) what build is the best for my needs? how much power will i need? any prefs for the case? thank you for your time
