  1. The system will have 8gb of DDR3 so it should be fine.
  2. Hey guys! I am building a budget system for a friend of mine and I was wondering if an i7-860 would bottleneck a HD 7850. Thanks in advance for any responses.
  3. Thanks for replying guys! I shall buy the RAM and let you know how it goes.
  4. Hello LinusTechTips Forums! I have a dilemma, I am looking for 'very' budget RAM for a 'very' budget system I am building for a friend. I need 2x4 DDR3 but when I look at the cheapest '2x4 DDR3 RAM' there is on eBay it always says 'High Density, for AMD Systems Only'. Since when was this a thing? I thought all RAM worked for all systems! Besides the clock speed and what 'DDR' it is of course. I am using an Intel CPU so according to the people on eBay this won't work for me and I need to get 'Low Density RAM', is this true? Because I have never heard of it before.
  5. I am amazed no one has mentioned 1440p. I think it is the perfect balance between 1080p and 4K. Personally I use two 24 inch 1440p monitors so I can multitask while gaming, have more screen real estate than 1080p, and have a very sharp image. In my opinion 4K is a waste of money and 1080p is outdated.
  6. Downgrade? I've already tried running it completely vanilla.
  7. I already tried using VSync but it didn't do anything. Also I just remembered that this started happening just after I updated my drivers, do you think that could have anything to do with it?
  8. Hello, lately I have been experiencing screen tearing in Minecraft even though I have capped the FPS at 60. It doesn't matter if I am using Optifine, Shaders, or a Texture Pack, it still happens no matter what. I have already tried restarting my computer and reinstalling Minecraft but neither worked so I have resorted to asking for help here. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!
  9. But I researched the compatibility before I bought the parts and they should all work. Also I haven't gotten a chance to do an external build yet.
  10. Okay, I'll let you know how it goes.
  11. So I have an old HP Desktop from 2007 that worked perfectly fine and I wanted to upgrade it. So I purchased a new CPU, GPU, and RAM and installed them. But now when I try to turn it on all I get is a no signal message on the screen and 1 short beep followed by 1 long beep. Apparently these beeps are supposed indicate that there is a memory problem so I took out the new RAM and put the old one back in, but the same thing is still happening. I highly doubt that the RAM slots are broken because it was working perfectly fine before I put in all the new parts and I have already tried clearing the CMOS but that didn't do anything. All help is appreciated and please if you have any ideas about what I need to do to fix it please let me know. Thank you!
