Yeah that's what I thought myself. I'm going to buy a long cat 6 cable and rip the other one out and use that instead, going to be better in the long run. Also kind of a silly question, can I use the Ethernet cable for multiple devices? I think there could be an ip conflict but maybe with a switch it could work?

I have a dsl cable going up to my office from near my router and I want to use that to connect my PC to internet, I'm going in the budget option and don't want to spend too much money. The Ethernet cable is too messy of a setup and since I have an existing DSL cable running I'm wondering if I can connect that to my router using adapters? Tl:dr; want to connect pc to router using DSL cable as Ethernet

Dude get Hyperx Cloud II's I use them with my ps4 and they work perfectly, even the virtual surround sound works through the USB. The comfort is top notch and a microphone is much much better than the one that comes with the ps4 headset...just get the cloud 2s, you wont regret it. plus you can get them cheap enough on amazon

fixed it myself, wasn't too difficult. Btw I have a gaming pc too but like ps4 for the couch multiplayer

I fixed it without doing anything too complicated. I went into network connections, made sure that none of my connections is being shared and then bridged wifi and lan port to create Ethernet 2 bridged connection. Then I plugged an ethernet cable into ps4 and laptop. On the ps4 I went into set up as LAN and went into custom setup, then for IP Address I selected manual, gave it an IP address that will never be used by my devices eg 192.168.1.40, for subnet mask I went onto my laptop and ran command prompt then put in command ipconfig /all and got subnet mask, default gateway as well as primary and secondary dns, then put them all into the ps4 and went onto next step, which is leaving everything default. Now I get download speeds of 50mbps and upload of 15mbps Hope this helps someone in the future

I used to have 5mbps for years now finally can do everything properly I have it about 5 meters away and signal strength is a 90%

I get around 70DL and 30UL on my laptop over wifi. And on my ps4 I get 1DL and 1.1UL, I tried changing DNS to googles one (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) as well as giving it a static IP and changing settings in my router to give it priority and I get no improvement at all. Do you know any other way without buying a repeater or powerline adapter that can improve the wifi? I'm assuming ps4 has a crap network card which is a bottleneck but 1mbps is a joke in this day,

its crap, on my laptop I get 70mbps and on ps4 I get 5 and its closer to the router

yup, could it be because im trying to connect a ps4? my guess is that it makes no difference

From Ireland, was supposed to get around 70,,but im still happy with this, before I had 3mbps and 0.32kbps.

just saw that I could, still didn't work tho...

there's a lot of different check boxes there, I don't know which to select. I tried it default and it didn't work

why don't they allow us to bridge connections anymore is beyond me...

I would use a router but its too far away and I have no box in my room to plug it in.
