  1. So yesterday, I went out with friends and left my pc open cos I was downloading the whole CoD:MW game. When we all went home, as I entered my room I smelled burned electric stuff. So I searched for it. Touched my avr and it was hot as hell. Turned on my dual monitor setup to check if my pc was still fine and shut it down properly(didnt check if it was freezing or anything since I was worried the avr's capacitors might explode and the surge would hit my pc. So my setup is wall socket > Avr > surge protection extension wire which my dual monitor and pc is connected to. The avr was like 10 years old so probably burnt out because of age. Now after removing the avr, I didnt plug in my pc to check if it was still running fine as I was tired. (It was before the avr burnt) So in the morning my sata cable package came, so I plugged in my extra hdd, a few bumps here and there but not too hard to damage an hdd. And while I was doing my normal browsing routine, I noticed an unusual microfreeze. I didnt mind at first probably just my old hdd(the one I just plugged in) making my pc slow or something. Then the freezes became frequent, after that it became longer, probably as long as how hdd drives boot. So I panicked and removed the old hdd. Turned on my pc again to see if it was running normal again. Same thing happened again, it freezed, and freezed and it gets longer and longer. So I tried to reseat everthing, gpu, ram, cmos, hdd. After doing that my pc ran fine for 3 hours then it started again. So I called my friend to bring his extra gpu and hdd with an installed os on it. First we checked the hard disk for errors and stuff. None, tried sfc /scannow, nothing. Tried to check memory errors, none. We tried replacing the gpu but it was only a 1650( mine was a 1070 6 pin) no freezes whatsoever but it was only a single monitor since it didnt have many ports as my 1070. I tried my 1070 again and it froze, I tried to place it on the 2nd pcie slot but still freezing. Is my gpu dead? Or is there something else causing this freeze? Cos if the gpu died due to the burnt avr, my psu wouldve probably took a hit and my mobo, so would my 2 monitors. I really need help. No bsods or whatsoever, no crashes just mini to long freezes. Update: I tried to DDU, it seems ok now, still testing normal use for the whole day probably and see if it still freezes.
