  1. about 5 years ago you would of said the same about 2 cores but look where we are now 4 cores recommended and 6 core prices are dropping quite quickly so in another couple years they will be easily affordable
  2. oooooooooh I now see how you were meant to phrase that I completely mis-understood. my apologies I thought you were saying that less-powerful cores were better not fewer powerful cores are better
  3. its a joke ok then pls give me a better site to compare stuff and i also gave a you ayoutube link so see my point as well and also a 4790k is the same price as a 5820k apart from like £10 so why go for the older stuff when i could get the newer and ur advice has been pointless thus far. oh yea you went and spoke about 5 years ago when i said i wanted a bit of future proof so no wonder you like older stuff, guess u are also into some gilfs?
  4. sorry i dont live in the past , not a single fuck given about the last 5 years where 1 core was enough aahah. and the 5820k has many fast enough cores for games as you could find out here: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-5820K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4690 here you will see the 4960k beats the 5820k by a tiny bit in single core but the 5820k is god like over it for multi core and also here for games that love their cores: but i won't be just gaming so the extra cores may have so extra use and when the time came for 4 cores were 2 cores obsolete ? NO people still play on 2 cores for heavens sake when 6 cores is affordable people will stick with the quad because they will have to upgrade a fair few items in their pc and some people don't want that, and why wait when you can get a little bit ahead?
  5. not really dumbing it down when it didn't make sense you a just correcting your last sentence "Looks good, but i'd like to say that 4 cores have been more than enough here and 4 years." the bit in red is what i did not understand as 4cores have been been more than enough except gta 5 uses 4 cores? and 4 years? AND 4 years? WHAT about 4 years, there's my way of dumbing down me asking you in a nice way.. and i won't be just gaming so i may need more than 4 cores and gta 6 will need 4 or more cores and other games will probably start using more cores as well as batman arkham knight night recommends quad core and more than enough here? texas, redneck ? ?
  6. hey, i have changed the build a little bit but you seem to know what you are doing, is it better than the original? also i have a budget of £1000 http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/BKZbYJ
  7. no idea what you said, could you clarify ?
  8. ram is really simple to replace so i don't mind just get 1x8 at the moment then saving for 4x8 or 4x4 at a later date as it doesn't make a HUGE difference from what i know but ye it is nice to have that little bit faster speeds but straight off the bat I don't mind
  9. noono read it please!!!! 1: i have an SSD if you read it bottlenecked by my HDD ? > i hardly turn my pc off so nawt really and i mainly use my NAS for storage, 4790k is a 5820k but with 4cores pretty much in basic and same price apart from like £10 and no thanks to the red team they are very disappointing. don't push the system with high quality software dev and graphics ? lemme see you render out an image smoothly in super high quality, in under an hr HAH. and i won't be just gaming so 4cores may not suit my stuff and for 2yrs+ i want to be ok for the next 3yrs + as 6six cores for gaming will last me ages and for graphics and if i do do some animation as i may do so the six cores will be nice for that and also with other projects the faster cpu will be a lot nicer and so forth
  10. UGH, ALL THIS "FUTUREPROOFING" also, it will probably be awhile before games take advantage of 6 cores, as less stronger cores are preffered in gaming, so if youre going to be just gaming get a quad core... Id get a MUCH cheaper CPU and get a better GPU like a 980ti or something..."-from you with a bit of editing. 1: UGH, ALL THIS "FUTUREPROOFING" - ('care for f bomb here') 2:it will probably be awhile before games take advantage of 6 cores - true but i won't be just gaming 3:less stronger cores are preferred in gaming - what? no that's the opposite 4:so if youre going to be just gaming get a quad core - if you actually read the first couple sentences you would realise im not just gaming 5:MUCH cheaper CPU and get a better GPU like a 980ti or something - much cheaper cpu so you mean downgrade to a z97 mobo and chipset and get a 980ti which is op for 1080p gaming when a 970 will do fine no problem.
  11. it's all good and i did not know about the ram purchased separately doesn't work perfectly together so i guess I shall fork out the money for the 16gb but is dual chan that much better?
  12. not a fan of AMD stuff and the HDD is only in-case the NAS fails for some stupid reason so a TB is only needed and why would it need dual channel 'yo boot' but as well I will be adding another 8gb stick exactly the same as the current one later on
  13. 4k is almost affordable when i say affordable im not waiting for it to be £100 or something like that so i have to wait another 6-12 ish months, as you can see here: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-pb287q its currently £375 so pretty much already affordable
  14. will be 1080p for now but when 4k gets a bit cheaper will upgrade to that and probably the next to best card out there the 650w was cheaper from what I found around but will be adding a 750-850w instead as I will probably be upgrading and that seems to be what most people are saying as well
