  1. Hi all! First of all I am using Windows 8.1. I have been experiencing this very annoying problem - whenever I am programming in my favorite text editor (Sublime text 2) and I need to change between English and my native language I hit shift+alt, which changes the language just fine, but with that it selects "File" from the top toolbar and stops my writing, at which point i have to replace my writing cursor (by clicking on the certain point of the text that I want to start writing at), after clicking it works fine. It is not really such a big deal, but having in mind i change languages every 10-30 seconds while writing, it becomes a problem that I have to place my cursor again and again every time I change language. And by now you are just burning to say that the problem is in the specific program - nope... It happens in basically every program with top toolbar (the bar with File, Edit etc), but not in the browser (chrome). Have any of you guys encountered this "problem"? And if yes, how did you fix it?
  2. I have no plugged in flash drives. I believe, however that the OS ran out of space. Last time I checked i had 3GB of free space on the C drive left. I will reinstall Windows and see what happens. (I am on Windows 7 Ultimate)
  3. So I just encountered this problem. My mother was browsing the web on my computer and when i got home i saw this: . I don't know how it happened since my mom is a tech disaster. I have access to the BIOS and the boot options menu. I can also boot from DVD/USB fine. Which leads me to thinking it is some kind of OS fail. That is all I got at the moment. My question is has anyone ever encountered such a problem, and if yes, how did you fix it? And what was it caused by? Thanks all! Cheers from Bulgaria!
  4. Yup, twice. Seems to have some kind of error  .
  5. So i recently installed Windows 8.1 and liked it so far, until i rebooted my computer and got the "windows is getting ready don't turn off your computer". It has been standing like that for 12 hours now. I can't get access to any clean boot or safe mode or anything of that sort. I don't have any kind of repair disk or such.
  6. Informative: 1280x1024 is 5:4, not 4:3.
  7. I had this problem recently. Give the 24-pin connector a wiggle, making sure its securely in place. Im not sure why this happens (probably loose connection somewhere) but I fixed it by pressing the 24 pin. Edit: Btw with me it happened with an asus p5kpl MB.
  8. Hello everyone! I just wanted to share a problem i recently had with an HP laptop. The problem was in a very unexpected place so if you ever run into it you know where to look. So this client had a laptop with a non-working screen lighting. After poking around with my handy multimeter i discovered that there was no power going to the inverter but there was power on the motherboard's connection to it. So what turned out the problem was, that the pins on the connector had melted, losing contact. They were so small that i needed a magnifying glass to see it, which is exactly why this was such a hard to find issue. Ended up just soldering a wire that replaces the molten link. Hope this information serves good to someone. Will be interested to see what hard-to-find problems you have ran into in your practice.
  9. Bad thermal compound maybe? Or if you are sure that it's not the problem try (if possible) testing with the old CPU block. Just so you can get some idea where the problem is. Is the 4790k at stock settings?
  10. Will try it on another pc tomorrow and update on what results i got. I'm very suspicious to the OS also. But if it was it wouldn't it break with all keyboards?
  11. So i have this very weird problem. The keyboard actually works fine - the ctrl, alt, shift etc. buttons. But trouble starts when letters are typed. Instead of "asdgfasdfjhasdghasdf" the keyboard writes "אפיסהפאסיבדךכאםהךזדאסהפכאסהםפ". This happens in any language (tried bulgarian, english, german). Has anyone of you guys encountered this problem? Is it an OS problem or hardware? I haven't tried it on another PC but another keyboard works fine on the same PC. Its a keyboard im very comfortable with so i really want to fix it if possible.
  12. Oke so i guess im going to collect some money and just build a high-end PC and not worry about it for a good couple of years. Thanks to all for your advice.
  13. Hello everyone! I have a question. I have this Foxconn A690GM2MA AMD Athlon 64 x2, 2400 MHz 4600+ 1GB DDR2 RAM @ 800 MHz (i don't know the model of it) Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (512 mb vram) and some psu (not sure about model) but it does the job. So my question is should i upgrade this to a 8 or so gb of ram and a better video card (wanting your opinion for a good price to performance GPU) with a budget of about $150 for it. Or my second option is to just sell this for as much as i can possibly get and add some more money and build a mid spec gaming pc (keeping in mind that i have all the needed peripherals and a box so all i really nead is the general components).
