Low budget PC hardware advice.
angelus0w replied to angelus0w's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Would a Ryzen 7 2700x be better than a Ryzen 5 3600x? I can get the Ryzen 7 & a motherboard for under £200 new & 16gb ram used for £35. -

Thank you all, it looks like I may have to wait a little until payday, so don't have to compromise. Can't find a decent used deal on ebay. -

Ah, no not new, I'll keep browsing for better deal, also yes, it is a blower style, didn't think about that (I do have a morpheus 2) wonder if that will fit. -

Okay, I see a ryzen 5 3600x, 16gb ddr4 ram & b450 tomahawk motherboard for £308 + a radeon rx vega 64 for £200. Does this sound right? Or would say a 1660ti for £200 be better? **update, corrected cpu naming mistake. -

I'll check used for that Ryzen mentioned above, see what it comes up with. Don't really want to stretch budget more as will only be a temp system. Will I have to be careful what motherboard to get the Ryzen or will any AM4 do? -

Scan have these for 320, motherboard isn't same & don't know anything about AMD model numbers? "AMD Ryzen 5 3600, ASUS EX-A320M GAMING, 16GB DDR4" Not sure what happened there, I read something different.. Reply update... I'll check ebay too. Happy to buy used. I don't mind new or used, will only be a 6 month ish system until can build again.. £300 for mobo, ram & cpu. As for gpu around £150/200 max. -
Hey there, Sorry if in wrong section.. please advice if is. I've Just had my 7700k system die on me (Brother inlaw & a glass of coke....), so need to build new system. while I save for a powerhouse I need a temp build. Budget is low (around £300). My main need is Elder Scrolls online, Photoshop and some odd basic fusion 360 or inventor use. I'm happy to go Intel or AMD (no preference) What I have working from my system already: Be Quiet! dark base pro 700 Be Quiet! pure power 11 700w psu (possibly dead, cannot test atm) Be Quiet! dark rock pro 4 cpu air cooler Spare unused Corsair h60i AIO 5x Be Quiet! pure wings 3 140mm fans I need a new CPU, Motherboard, Ram, SSD & possibly GPU (cannot test) , That will fit well with what I already have left working. What is a basic in budget system that can do these tasks, Elder Scrolls online 1080p high/ultra if possible? Also I'm sorry about structure of post, I'm not good at this. Thank you in advance.

You're a star! Thank you!

Excellent! Thank you, I shall order one tonight! One thing I wonder, the fan in the g12 looks like it will miss my pcb entirely as my gpu die at rear end on front of pcb. Would this cause issues?
-
Sorry for double post, missed this... Interesting, I have a spare corsair hydro 120mm aio, h55 I believe, would this be suitable? Will it perform better than a morpheus 2?
-
Thank you, I shall try contacting them. Good to know about cross compatibility. I believe the original owner of card said it was from an asus gt51ch, but it does look just like this card, although has republic of gamers sticker on front. Unfortunately unable to see exact pcb model, was hoping to go for a morpheus 2 cooler as no point custom looping a 1070 anymore. Would you know if the morpheus 2 is also a cross capable pcb cooler? What worries me is most cards have the vrm's etc to the right of gpu die, this has them to the left.with a very tall vrm cooler. (Believe its called vrm)

I have an Asus gtx 1070 blower style graphics card, I have tried researching exact model so I can upgrade cooler. I have typed card numbers into google, which states its a asus 1070 turbo, but upon looking the pcb doesn't match. Card says "msip-rem-msq-gtx1070" also "gtx 1070-8G rev 2.1" I'll attach some pictures. Thank you in advance.

Yes, a rare thing nowadays. I also use an s6 edge but I cannot type nearly as fast than on the passport which helps ssh work. I have read through attached link, while complex it seems good, before I commit though I wonder if I can configure my pfsense router to block intrusive ads, virus scan and act as a secure vpn to my network?
