  1. They way I see it is, my friend will be one lucky guy with his new 280x this June, haha. I mean I wouldn't want it sitting on a shelf would I? All you've said is 100% right, I'd much rather wait for the new AMD 3xx series supposedly on July in terms of gpus. In terms of CPU power though, I might make the jump to Intel and have a nice neat build ready to suit my brand new GPU around September-ish.
  2. Yeah, 1080p ultrawide. The additional 8gb of RAM is a no-brainer. I'm thinking EVGA 980 and a 4490k i7. Keep my case and HDD, snatch up an SSD. Any recommendations for CPU cooling and 1150 socket mobos?
  3. I get 87 fps on ULTRA with my R9 280x, ofc using Mantle but nevertheless.
  4. Good thinking but I think the 970 is on par if maybe a little better than the 280x, so I think a 980 sounds nice
  5. I wanna go intel so bad, I really do, but what's gonna happen is me being left with an extra mobo/cpu on my hands with no use for. If I were to use my budget to build a new rig combining some stuff from my current one, how should I go about it? 4470k?
  6. Exactly! That's what I considered as well but no one here in Greece will buy my used 280x I've tried selling stuff like that before. If I find a use for it I'm thinking a 980 or something, what do you think? Great question, dumb of me not to mention. Editing and gaming mostly.
  7. Budget: around 1.5k euros *would be nice if I could get amazon.co.uk links or at least retailers in Europe* You can see my rig in my signature down below. Best possible boost with fifteen-hundred euros. I accept any possible upgrade idea that includes budget money allocated for an ultrawide monitor, if you cant propose one just consider the fact that money for that has to be left over! Go wild and thank you in advance! My thoughts before this post: grab another 280x and xfire it. Water cool+oc my cpu. Another 8gb of ram and a larger/better ssd. OR---- Simple, Intel CPU Rig for gaming and editing. You can check out my current rig in my signature so you can tell me what parts I can keep. What I'm looking for: 1) 60+fps gaming on an ultra-wide monitor that has to be included in the build, or at least money set aside for it. 2) OCable cpu setup, if that makes sense Go wild and thank you in advance.
  8. Thank you for the replies everyone!
  9. If I know one part that is the ultimate budget pick and is awesome.. it's the Corsair 200R (amazing case for the money).
  10. So I have three monitors, two 2xSamsung, 1x LG. I have the LG connected with a DVI to VGA adapter, the other one with a mini display port to hdmi cable and the last one with an hdmi cable. My card is the Gigabyte R9 280x. Only two monitors can work at a time and I'm getting really frustrated. When I try to change the third one to: "Extend to this display", it prompts a message saying: "The display settings could not be saved. Please try a different combination and try again.". I've tried switching up the cables but that didn't help. Any ideas?
  11. I got the chills man shit, haha. Great idea!
  12. Depends on the i5. The 4690k and 4670k are great for example.
  13. Looks like a great idea, just ensure your PSU can handle that. Also that your mobo supports crossfire (right pcie slots etc)
  14. I really can't help with prices etc since I live in Greece and don't know the standards in other countries. What you should look for though is CAS-9 DDR3 1600Mhz RAM. Since you want it primarily for gaming and want to save some bucks.
  15. Do you have any plans on working in the summer in the following years? If so, upgrade you rig. The upgrade seems all well and nice but I would spend a little bit more on the GPU if I were you. If you grab a higher-end card now you won't have to worry about that for a while. It would certainly be clever to wait for the 3xx series, gives you more options on how to proceed. This rig would be fine recording what I assume would be gameplay at 1080p. What I would do is opt for an SSD for the OS and still keep the HDD for storage, also, you might want to pick a higher watt PSU if you're considering opting for a better GPU.
  16. Wait a minute, isn't this meant for Single-player?
  17. No he just doesn't want to be your bitch lol
  18. Is there something specific going on in the background when this happens? Pretty sure it's Software related imo
  19. Even though this is nothing compared to what there is to come... I FUCKING LOVE SNOW
  20. Oh yes, as long as your mobo supports corssfire and you are fine loosing a bit of performance it's all good!
  21. You are definitely looking at loss in performance of the second GPU. To be honest, about 10% loss, and that aint cool
  22. Yeah sounds like a fried mobo to me as well. Have you checked the PSU though? Make sure everything is okay with it firstly?
  23. Yeah, Be quiet! Shadow Rock 2 looks nice, also affordable here in Greece.
  24. I see, thanks for the input! I know but I was looking for something less of a hassle to be honest. If I can get at least 4.4 Ghz and above with air I'm satisfied tbh.
  25. You can check my build in my signature down below. I'm currently running my 8350 on stock cooling eagerly waiting to overclock it once I buy the proper 3d party heatsink/cooler. Any suggestions for suitable or even ideal cooling for the particular cpu? My mobo is up to the task I think.
