  1. Hello LTT Forum, I am finally building my X99 system to take to college for motion graphics and gaming. I am here to ask you guys to give me suggestions on my build plans so far, and if there is anything that could cut some costs or improve the build. I plan on buying all components within a few days. So I need basically some 2nd opinions and basically a check by you guys incase I am missing anything or if there is anything better. Another quick question, is there a successor to X99 yet that I am missing out on? I preferably do not want to move to Skylake, because I would like to have the ability to fill all 8 RAM Slots, adding up to eventually 128 GBs of RAM (My RAM selection is x4 16 GB sticks, taking only 4 slots of 8) NOTES: USD & Total = $2,224.55 Plan on Buying: CPU - Intel Core i7-6800K: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117649&ignorebbr=1 Motherboard - MSI X99A GAMING PRO CARBON: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G4R64521&ignorebbr=1 RAM - 64GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400 DDR4: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233898&ignorebbr=1 GPU - 1080 Ti (My options so far, need suggestions): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125954&cm_re=1080_Ti-_-14-125-954-_-Product PSU - Corsair HXi 750i 80PLUS Platinum: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139149&ignorebbr=1 OS - Windows 10 Home (Physical USB): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832588528&cm_re=Windows_10-_-32-588-528-_-Product Already Have: CPU Cooler -Hyper 212 Evo: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099&cm_re=hyper_212_evo-_-35-103-099-_-Product Case - Corsair Carbide Black/White: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139032 HDD - WD Black 2 TB: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236624&cm_re=WD_Black_2_TB-_-22-236-624-_-Product SSD - Intel 540 Series 240 GB Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Chroma Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma Mouse Pad: Razer Firefly (free with chroma) Yea I like Razer. 2. Lighting to Lighting + 3.5mm is what im looking for. Also that comes with the iPhone, thats a replacement.
  3. As the title says, I am trying to find a Lighting to Lighting + 3.5mm audio jack dongle for my iPhone 7, though I can only find very expensive options. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions for a cheaper solution, or maybe a list of dongles that fit my needs. Any help is appreciated!
  4. This includes using a full size keyboard and mouse / mousepad, headphones as well and graphics tablet. Laptop being an ASUS G750JM Overclocked, being a 17'3" laptop (Upgraded as well) Razer Blackwidow Chroma, being 18.72 inches Razer Deathadder 2014 Razer Goliathus when going mobile (ex: going to a friends or traveling) Razer Firefly (I like lights if you can't tell, this is for at home) Shitty old HP 2ndary monitor (when needed) with factory defect HyperX Cloud Headset Wacom Intuos Manga I can fit this all in a relatively small bag, while being, tolerably heavy (I believe the laptop is 10 Lbs), Keyboard in the same baggage as laptop, and personally, I find it very convenient. I can bring a full gaming setup in just a bag, rather than a desktop needing a car or such to travel with (for say LAN). I can unpack and set up in about a a minute, and be set up entirely. Putting it away takes about 2 minutes, just to get everything settled nicely and not just tossed in sideways ect. so I want to know, what you think if you used this setup, and got to know it. All feedback accepted, keep toxicity out. Edit: Can provide images of setup
  5. I believe that's just the company car now, he actually has a personal family car.
  6. Its probably got 4 subs and a 12 speaker system, as well twin turbos and the exhaust salvaged from a Lamborghini Huracan.
  7. Replacing / changing speakers is relatively the same from vehicle to vehicle. The only different being, sometimes, a proprietary adapter the STOCK SPEAKERS, if you are going aftermarket, they generally all use the same interface, positive / negative terminals. Only thing that really can be "different" is speaker size for cars, which is just the manufactures choice, and can be modified using basic tools, but it is easier to just drop in the same size as factory.
  8. Since LMG produces quite a bit of audiophile content, I am surprised they have never tested the waters with car audio, such as explaining different speaker sizes and what they do / cover, how locations effect sound, how to install them, ect, as basic car audio (Replacing stock speakers and stereo) is rather basic and easy to replicate, especially on older cars (2000's), but can be harder or not (as) possible on newer cars, viewers could actually do, unlike a lot of complains about "DIY" or other "tutorial" videos, are not exactly replicate to an average viewer. Basic car audio is also very affordable, even nicer stereos (or radio, whatever you want to refer to it as), Subs are sometimes also included in cars, usually newer, which can be replaced as well. Amps, eqs, guage wiring, mounting a sub, grounding, ect, can be saved for more advanced videos or tutorials.
  9. I'v repeatedly experienced programs being deleted by updates, but never personal files being deleted, then dumped into the recycle bin post-update. I found this extremely strange. Oh Microsoft.
  10. Very confused, usually the major Windows Updates delete incompatible programs, but, a Google Drive Folder? I have Google Drive for Desktop installed, and I had a folder from my PC backed up there, as well another, being hosted on the Google Drive itself, for reassurance, And the Windows update deleted the one being hosted on the Google Drive, and all contents where dumped into Recycle Bin. Any explanation?
  11. Hello, I am thinking about upgrading my ASUS G750JM's RAM, currently it has 4 total slots, 2 internal, 2 external (would not need to remove keyboard ect to get too) running the base HMT451S6AFR8A-PB https://www.amazon.com/Hynix-HMT451S6AFR8A-PB-PC3-12800-DDR3-1600MHz-Unbuffered/dp/B00FKEZ218 x2 4 GB (Occupying the 2 internal slots) I was wondering, should I upgrade the RAM with the same x2 4 GB sticks, or if it would be better to go with a different brand of the same speed. Totaling 16 GB's. Wondering because I have heard how you should usually stick to the same brand same speed rather than mix match brand.
  12. Could always redeem it though your iDevice. In the app store I believe.
  13. Any suggestion on a cheap PCI card for it that would be compatible? Also all the USB Adapters (I have one in an older HP Running Vista) and its speeds are painfully slow compared to my actual speeds on my G750JM (60 MB DL 3 MB UL) Is that just a downside to using USB Adapters? or is it just a shitty brand adapter. The HP has a EDUP 802.11n adapter.
