  1. Yeah TLDR is r6 + streaming. I guess I would need to upgrade the whole thing now. I'll just decide which one to upgrade first.
  2. I see what you mean. Thing is though, I'm doing some Rainbow Six Siege stream right now as I type this, and my CPU usage is spiking all the way up to high 90s% even 99% usage while my GPU is ok at 80ish %. I was about to even order a 2060 super but then this happens. I guess this is just bad game optimization from R6 but still, made my decision a bit harder now.
  3. Yeah like I said in the post, this upgrade is meant PURELY FOR RAINBOW SIX SIEGE WHILE STREAMING AT A DECENT QUALITY.
  4. I see. It's not that I'm not happy with my 1060, or even the whole rig for that matter. It's just that its not getting the job done in Rainbow Six Siege. And I would like to try and start streaming from here on out. Thanks for your advice my man.
  5. I see. Do you think a 2060 will do the job or should I go with the SUPER variant? 2070 is not really an option for me because of the price.
  6. I'm aware that $500 is not enough for an entire rig, hence the question of what to upgrade FIRST based on my objective. I mean if a cpu upgrade is what would give me a bigger boost in fps, then i'll go with that, if a gpu upgrade will do the job, then the same applies. Thing is with rainbow six siege I'm not quite sure if it is a gpu or cpu heavy game. It's kind of a weird game to be honest at least for me.
  7. Greetings from the Philippines! Here's my rig: MSI Z97 gaming 5 i7 4790 MSI GTX 1060 6gb 16GB 1866 RAM I have at least a P25,000 pesos (give or take $500) budget to upgrade my rig. Now the question is, what upgrade will give me a better gaming experience (more FPS) outright, a cpu or a gpu upgrade? Now with the budget that I have, I'm looking at either a ryzen 2700 + a good amd motherboard + 8gb or 16gb of RAM. OR An MSI rtx 2060 or 2060 super ventus OC. Or something along those lines in case said gpu is not in stock here in my area. EDIT: Note that whatever I upgrade first, I will then deal with the other parts in the near future. My main goal is to play rainbow six siege in a competitive setting, so that means none of the eye candy stuff, just a couple of settings cranked up so I can see the character models better, some FXAA, and thats it. And 144fps stable is a must. I would also like to stream some of my games at a decent quality when I'm not practicing with my team. I would like to note that I don't care much for all the extra bells and whistles like RGB, extra motherboard features, even ray tracing, I just like the new RTX cause of the new NVENC that I can utilize with it. Just a simple upgrade that can achieve the above stated objective without overspending would be great. TLDR: CPU or GPU upgrade for COMPETITIVE RAINBOW SIX SIEGE 144HZ + STREAMING.
  8. Yeah l agree. Like I said on my earlier reply, this is exactly why I considered RTX outright. I'm really leaning towards NVIDIA right now. But I'm still not sure whether to get the SUPER or NON SUPER variant.
  9. no worries i'll still give it a follow. mine is beben_tv so that you'll know it's me.
  10. Couldn't have said it better myself. Cheers friend!
  11. Thank you for that advice @xhackforeverxdx. I will definitely keep that in mind. By the way you can give me your twitch channel and I'll definitely give it a follow.
  12. With my current 1060, I AM ABLE to get a stable 144hz, albeit sacrificing in game AA which sometimes makes the game blurry for me. (I am a semi pro R6 player here in the Philippines so blurry graphics is somewhat a big deal for me). The reason for the upgrade is so that I can crank up R6 Anti Aliasing in game, while streaming at a better quality. I think the 2070 or 2070 super will be overkill for that. And I'm not sure if spending that much more will be worth it. Hence the 2060 or 2060 super options, and I guess now I am considering NAVI.
  13. I see. So does that mean a 2060 non super just wouldn't cut it?
  14. Hi! Good question. Right now I only have a couple of viewers here and there, nothing big like @xhackforeverxdx. But my goal is to build my channel, hence the interest in investing for a better GPU. But again, I'm looking to achieve that goal while not overspending at the same time.
  15. I game at 1080p right now and downscale the stream to 720p with bilinear scaling which is kinda blurry if you ask me. I can't even do FXAA in game cause again, 1060 :(. Now that I know 5700 xt is more than enough, will a 2060 be enough? Or should I go with the SUPER? It would be great if a fellow r6 streamer can chime in here too.
  16. Yeah I guess I could just get the SUPER version. But achieving my goal while saving a couple of bucks would be great though. So I guess I have to rephrase my question. What bang for the buck GPU can give me a 144fps stable R6 gaming while 1080p streaming? Thanks!
  17. I see, yeah I guess I would consider Navi once it drops here in the country.
  18. Exactly why I considered RTX outright. Again, the main goal is to maintain a stable 144fps while gaming rainbow six siege while streaming a better quality 1080p. I mean if a 2060 amp! can achieve that then that would save me $100 which is great.
  19. I don' think navi is even out yet here in the Philippines. I have considered going amd though, or waiting for navi to come here then check the prices once it comes out. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't done enough research on navi . I guess that's what I'll do now.
  20. Hi! Im on the verge of updating my GPU from a MSI gtx 1060 gaming x to either a Zotac RTX 2060 amp! or MSI RTX 2060 super ventus oc (almost $100 more expensive here in the Philippines). https://www.newegg.com/global/ph-en/zotac-geforce-rtx-2060-zt-t20600d-10m/p/N82E16814500457 https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-2060-super-rtx-2060-super-ventus-oc/p/N82E16814137437 Now the question is, which of the 2 gpu's will be enough for my needs? I mainly game Rainbow Six Siege competitively, with some apex legends here and there on 144fps and I also stream my games almost everytime. As of right now, I downscale my stream to 720p with bilinear scaling in OBS which makes the stream quality somewhat bearable but not that great. My goal is to play on a stable 144fps while streaming 1080p with decent settings in OBS. I should point out that I don't care much about all the in game eye candy (ultra settings and whatnot). I game on competitive settings in R6 anyways, hence the need for FXAA so I can see the enemies better. And I cant stress this enough, 144fps STABLE, while streaming is all I want. So again, TO SUPER OR NOT TO SUPER? Hoping to get some insights from you guys. Thanks in advance. Cheers! Edit: Navi hasn't come out yet her in our country but I will consider it once it does.
  21. Yep, I will be swapping for the 4790 today. Appreciate all of your replies @Trevor87, @i_build_nanosuits @KarmaFPS.
  22. I'm not sure but I believe it's a single stick of 8GB ram. Although not a big deal, the hassle of disassembling the whole unit the assembling the new one, then reformatting, seems like a lot of work to me. Would do it though if it is really worth it. I was looking at side by side benchmarks for both cpu's in youtube, and yeah it seems the difference is not that significant. I think I'll go for the 4790 and save the big upgrade for later. Maybe for coffee lake. Especially since I believe I can still sell the new bundle with the 4790 for a higher price than that of the 4690k bundle.
  23. Hi! Im planning to upgrade this coming weekend and I have a deal setup where I can swap my 4690k for a 4790 for roughly $55 (PHP converted to USD). The thing is, I realized that I could setup a different deal where I can swap out my MSI z97 gaming 5, 4x4gb ram, and 4690k to a 6700, asus h110m-d, and 8gb or ram for the same price of $55. The question is, is it worth it? I know that hands down the 6700 is better, but I feel like downgrading the motherboard and ram is somehow a lose for me. Note that the reason I prefer an I7 is that I play rainbow six siege on 144hz and an I5 just isn't enough especially when you are streaming/recording, and then making content. Hoping to get some insights from our enlightened community. Thanks in advance.
