I tried getting it above the 2400mhz point, but could not get the pc to boot up no matter what settings I went for. Ended up spending a few hours trying, but no luck at all.

Would it be more beneficial to wait until the new line of graphics cards are released for a (hopeful) price drop in the current ones? Yeah, stuck running it at 2400mMhz.

Hi guys, I'm looking to upgrade my PC, but I'm not so sure what I would benefit from most. My budget is around (USD)$600-$700. I mostly just play games like Overwatch, WoW, and Fortnite. But do have some plans to play games like Black Ops 4 when it's released, during the beta I really noticed I was struggling to keep a consistent 60fps. Anyways, here is my current build, PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nBqgQZ Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nBqgQZ/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2400G 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor ($158.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: MSI - B350 PC MATE ATX AM4 Motherboard ($69.60 @ B&H) Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($145.88 @ OutletPC) Storage: Crucial - BX200 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate - BarraCuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($42.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 980 4GB Video Card Case: Corsair - Carbide SPEC-04 (Black/Gray) ATX Mid Tower Case ($54.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($59.40 @ Amazon) Total: $531.75 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-09-03 13:15 EDT-0400 Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys, finally got enough money to replace my shit 5 year old laptop and I'm looking into building a PC, used for mostly just gaming. My budget is roughly around $1,000 (USD), I don't mind going a little over if it's really worth it. I don't need any drives or peripherals. And don't really care for the case (just assuming it doesn't look horrendous). What I have now is just this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gZpgP3 Looking for input on anything I should change.

Budget was stated at $350-$400 in post. In US dollars. Location is in US.

Hi! So, I have a friend who's looking to upgrade his pc. His budget is around the $350-$400 area (currency is in U.S dollars and location is in U.S as well). What upgrades would be most beneficial to him? His current build struggles to keep games like Overwatch above 60fps at low settings (It drops to like below 40fps during team fights). He currently has: CPU: AMD A8-7600 Motherboard: MSI - A78M-E35 Micro ATX FM2+ Memory: 8GB DDR3 Graphics Card: Radeon RX 470 4GB Storage: Crucial BX 200 - 240GB SSD Case: Corsair - SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+

AI does highly interest me, my University does offer a course on AI that I plan to take soon. And I'm currently in my school's robotics team, working on their AI ground unit, which has been so much fun! Game coding is something that has always sat in the back of my mind as a potential option, it seems like a fun thing to do. I haven't ruled that out yet.
-
I plan on really focusing on the topics that do interest me. As of right now, I'm really open to different areas of CS, and I'm looking for new things to study and learn.
-
I did look into it before I even started. For the most part, it all seemed so interesting to me, but as I started taking courses some of the topics were.... in a way boring and not what I expected. I get a sense of satisfaction when I complete something programming related, but in the networking, shell scripting, and mobile iOS classes, that sense was not there.
-
I've only shown a disinterest in mobile, networking, and shell scripting programming. I've absolutely enjoyed my C++ courses, and my current data structure and algorithm analysis class. I would hope that just a few disinterests would be fine and wouldn't spell the end of this for me.

Hey guys! I'm currently in my 4th semester (second year) of University, majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis in Software Development. And I was curious, what options do I have for the future, as in what can I go into/what type of programming is available to me (if that makes sense)? I know I really don't want much to do with mobile development or web page development. I hear these other types (front end, back end, etc...), and was curious what exactly they are/do. And if some of you have experience in them. As well what would YOU recommend learning? Classes I've taken: A beginning C++ class, A intermediate C++ class, A Unix and Networking Programming class. What I'm in now: A data structure and algorithm analysis class (C++), A iOS mobile programming class, This coming Spring semester: A Java class, A database class, An assembler programming class. So far there have been a few things that have not interested me at all. 1) Network programming, I didn't have such a good experience with this. While I did do fine in it, the whole topic just didn't grab my attention. Is this something I can move on in careers without knowing too much about it? 2) Shell scripting, again, something I really had no interest in. Same question, is this something I can move on in careers without knowing too much about it? 3) Mobile programming, just not my thing. Thanks in advance for the help!

Yeah, I may just go with one those cases and leave it as is.
-
Yeah, I'll probably just switch up the case. Thanks though!
