  1. http://www.debenhamsplus.com/de_lg_monitors_23_plus_10101499/version.asp Would this be a better experience?
  2. Ahh okay. Should be more or less what I'm looking for then. I was undecided between going for 1440p and going for ultrawide but knew I wanted IPS. The 1440p ones just seemed a lot more expensive. Plus, watching films without letterboxing sounds amazing.
  3. I'm on a student budget here so could you recommend better one for around £200? Preferably under if possible.
  4. From what I could tell, it would be the same height as my 21.5" monitor. What makes you say the size is too small?
  5. Just wondering if this is a good monitor worth buying. I've been looking to go ultrawide for a while but this one seems about half the price of what I was expecting. Anybody know if this is a good monitor?
  6. Ahh cool, I'll look into getting that then. Not as much customisation as I was hoping for but that is still pretty cool. Thanks a lot :-) . If you're in the UK it seems to be available on amazon
  7. Ooh well that's cool. That mounts via PCI doesn't it?
  8. I am looking at building in an air 240 fairly soon and I was thinking about lighting up the window. I had a look around and saw that most LED strips don't seem to be able to be turned off very easily. Does anybody know if there are any easily controllable LEDs out there that will fit in an air 240? Not necessarily RGB but preferably software controlled. Thanks for any help in advance. I've never had a case with a window before so I don't really know too much about lighting so any help is appreciated.
  9. I'll look at the 290 then, cheers for the help. Ahh okay, I would also choose a corsair case if it were my build but they said they didn't care about the case and were trying to shave off a bit of money wherever possible, really. Thanks for the advice guys, I'll show them a build list and see what they think.
  10. Ahh okay, I hadn't thought about the 290, good idea. What made you change the case? Also, I would also reccommend an SSD, I just felt like that's an optional extra they could spring for if they wanted to
  11. I hadn't noticed the RAM until now either, I'll go ahead and change that out. Thanks for your help! I think I'll show them what I've got here and see what they say.
  12. Do you reckon the 970 is overkill? That's the main bit I'm questioning, to be honest.
  13. Yeah, I thought the RAM was decent, I've had no troubles with it. Nice to hear that the stock coolers aren't completely useless then, I'll recommend they just stick with one of those then. Cheers for the help. Any more suggestions for the build would be appreciated, though :-) This is my current build list now: I've removed the SSD to save money for now. They have the money but I think they'd rather stay under £1000 as much as possible, really. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/t4RZCJ
  14. Ahh cool, I didn't even notice that had changed. I had just initially chosen the Corsair RAM because I'd never had any problem with if before and that's the RAM I have. Ahh that shaves off 25 quid or so then. Are the stock coolers any noisier? Haha yeah, most motherboards these days seem to have ethernet ports on them on already, which is pretty handy.
  15. Well, I've asked her before whether she wants to use ethernet or Wi-Fi for her internet connectivity and she didn't really know what I meant, so I thought it would be best to give her the option of wifi if she needed it. I believe the build I put together already has a wired internet card already , so that shouldn't be too much of a problem if she does want to use that. It could always be removed from the build if needed. I might be being dense here but have you only really changed to an overclockable chip/board? Because as far as I know, they don't even really understand what overclocking is and so I doubt they would be doing it. Actually, if they wouldn't be overclocking, would it even be needed to replace the stock cooling?
