  1. So, I've been using direct carrier billing for as long as i can recall on android, and it's great - I charge purchases and subscriptions to my prepaid phone account, which allows me to buy things with existing, rolled over credit. What I've been wondering for a while is, is there an app I can use to buy gift cards for other stores, or even the google play store, through in app purchases that anyone knows of? I have, no joke, hundreds of dollars of unused phone credit rolled over from the last couple of years, and I'd like to be able to actually do something with it.... Basically, are there any apps out there that would allow me to transfer the stored credit I have, through direct carrier billing, to something that I can use to buy things (gift cards or similar) other than apps, movies, games etc... ?
  2. Well, it seems pretty much everybody is saying get the 1080 UW, mainly on the basis of potential performance problems with the 970 in newer games. I'm just worried about future-proofing. 1440p and 4k are the future, so it feels a little silly buying a 1080 monitor in any form... Thoughts?
  3. Hi all, So I'm looking to upgrade my monitor (a 24" 1080p Benq RL2455hm), and I found myself trying to decide - do I up the resolution and size to a 1440p 27" panel, and stick with 16:9, or do i stick with 1080p and get an ultrawide monitor, for that sweet peripheral vision in games, and extra space for multitasking while working. I'm working on a fairly tight budget, about $400-500 AUD (roughly 300 - 380 USD). I have a couple of different monitors that I'm considering, but was wondering if anyone who has any experience with either, or both thought, or if anyone has any suggestions for those types of monitors in that price range. I was also vaguely wondering about performance. My system is, basically, a GTX 970, a core i5 4690k, as well as 8GB of RAM. What sort of performance difference can one expect from either an ultrawide 1080p resolution, or 1440p? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks
  4. I've been thinking about upgrading to a 1440p monitor for a while, and I don't have a whole lot of money to spend. This particular monitor is a nice 27 inch, 1440p panel, that is only 479 AUD - about the cheapest I could find it. Before I go ahead and buy it, does anybody use this monitor, or know of any similarly priced 27 inch 1440p monitors? I'll be using it for gaming, but I'm not so fussed about response time, as long as it isn't horrendous.
  5. Fixed - uninstalling mouse drivers seems to have done the trick.
  6. So I'm really enjoying AC Syndicate, and I noticed AC Unity was on sale. Is it really that bad that it's not worth $20?
  7. Hi everyone, Over the past day and a bit, I've been having this weird thing happen to my PC - whenever I leave it idle for over say, 25 minutes or so, when I come back to it and try to move the mouse, or click on something, it won't let me, and it just makes a constant beeping noise (and by constant, I don't mean a solid tone, I mean a short beep repeating...). The only way to stop it I've found is to reboot the PC... Does anyone know how to fix this? Is this to do with something I may have accidentally turned on, or is it a virus or a glitch? Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.
  8. So, we're about half way through to moto 360 2nd gen's life cycle. I've never owned a smart watch, and I'm finally getting around to buying one. The only problem is, with Android wear tech moving so fast, I'm beginning to wonder if I should just wait until the moto 360 3rd gen, instead of buying one now only to have it superceded in 6 months. Thoughts?
  9. I have $350 AUD to spend on a smart watch, and the pebble time steel, despite mixed opinions seems like a great option. I'm still considering Android wear for a more modern and clean interface, that will fully take advantage of Android. But then again, I feel like Android wear watches become outdated much more quickly e.g the original lg g watch is basically obsolete, but the original pebble isn't a huge amount different to modern pebble watches, except for in hardware. Thoughts? Which way should I go? If I were to go with Android wear, I'd be looking at an LG watch urbane or a zenwatch 2. Most other Android wear watches exceed $400 in Australia...
  10. The first one... I figured it would be a good starting point to just fiddle around.
  11. I'm looking to test out android wear, but I already have a nice analogue watch, and so I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on a smart watch that I'm not 100% convinced is a good idea. Anyone still using the original LG g watch in 2016? Any recommendations for other cheap android wear watches if you don't think getting a G watch is a good idea? Thanks
  12. Anybody had experience with either of these sets of earphones? My understanding is that the CX3.00 superseded the CX300-II, but I could be wrong. Also, there are heaps of reviews of the CX300-II, but I can't find any for the CX3.00 from any reputable source.... Thoughts? I'm trying to decide....
  13. You're probably right about Nathan Drake, but I feel saying Croft is an empty shell is probably an exaggeration. Maybe that could be said for the earlier games, but the more recent ones, particularly Rise of the Tomb Raider, give a lot more info about her life and character... You still have a point though, there isn't as much to her character as Drake.
  14. I've never played Uncharted, and I've heard this from a lot of people, but have never managed to get an actual reason as to why its better...Enlighten me?
