  4. Hi, Im the owner of an r9 290 and 6 months ago i changed the thermal compound on it because the card was overheating. I used some generic piece of shit paste that dried out and when i open my card this is what i see. now this stuff is hard to get out and has the consistency if dried up ketchup. i did the best i could removing it with 6 alcohol pads and kitchen roll. during the process i managed to smear some paste on the smd components next to the die (not smeared in the picture) i picked it out best i could with a toothpick and applied some more paste same generic crap. thermals restored, now in 2 months im going to do this again but im going to do it right no generic BS, noctua nt h1 but i want to get all of that generic stuff out too and i need a spray to get the small amount of paste stuck between the smd components. so can i use this https://homeshopping.pk/products/3M-08180-High-Power-Brake-cleaner-in-Pakistan.html or WD40 or something else? (i live in Pakistan we don't get rubbing alcohol here). also do comment on how much thermal paste ive used to little too much or just ok?

  6. Hi, 4 months ago my motherboard died, mainly the chipset was causing problems because if i heated it with a hair dryer it worked for a few hours after that it refused to turn on it was a ECS H61M7. now i have a MSI B75MA-e33 it works fine but i cant help but thinking that my old motherboard died because it was overheated because of by GPU but my r9 290 is a reference model. so i dont know what to make of this but for the longevity of my motherboard should i upgrade to a better (larger) case? or should i invest in more fans (i have a generic matx case quite a piece of shit with i rear exhaust fan). (would pictures help i can post some if it would help) My system. 7. Hi, I am looking for a long term storage solution for my mother so she can store pictures videos and other memories of her grandson. The pictures/videos come mainly though whatsapp and every few weeks i back them up to a usb drive other are taken from a dslr and are single copys. the problem is she is up to 3 drives (8, 16, 32) this year alone and its getting expensive. i want to buy my mom a good shockproof 1tb hdd but i fear that 10 years from now itll break and all the data might get lost. i need a rock solid solution! can someone recommend a good non could based solution?
  8. Hi, recently my motherboard died on me so i need to get a replacement, i have a xeon e3 1245 v2 lga 1155. so my question is should i spend another 60 bucks for a Z/H 77 or just stock to a basic H61 board. since i cant overclock the 60 bucks will be for sata 3 and usb 3. i mainly use my pc for gaming and programming i am a computer science student and a z77 motherboard will cost me an arm and a leg but is it worth it for such an aging platform and no im not looking to upgrade in the near future (ie 3 years)
  9. ZetZet that board has no usb 3 or sata 3 *The asus one
  10. Hi, recently my ECS H61M7 died. so its time to shop replacement i got that motherboard second handfor 30$ and did a fairly good job (before it died) having 2 sata 6gb/s ports and pcie 3.0. moving on here are a list of parts that i own: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Ecs H61H2 M7 Intel Xeon E3 - 1245v2 1 HP DDR3 Ram 8gb Asus reference r9 290 (unlocked) Corsair LS 120gb boot drive WD Caviar blue 160GB storage drive Cooler master 600W PSU now the hard part i live in Pakistan and 1155 boards are hard to come by so either buy used or buy from leftover stock. here are some motherboards i looked up. http://www.shophive.com/intel-desktop-board-dz77sl50k http://homeshopping.pk/products/ASUS-H61M-K-Motherboard-Price-in-Pakistan.html http://www.shophive.com/intel-desktop-board-blkdh67blb3 http://www.shophive.com/gigabyte-ga-h77-ds3h I know the offering is pitiful to say the least but what can i do? here are some things to keep in mind: I am using an SSD so a sata 6gb/s is a must i currently own a micro atx case but i can swap that in for a larger one for an additional 5$ its a generic case that i got with cd rom for 10$ I CANT overclock its a xeon I game, quite a lot, i now performance isnt affected by motherboard but just thought i should mention it. I am on a budget i have barely any cash on me. 1 usd = 100 pkr i can look other places but i doubt ill find any thing because only stock leftovers are being sold Thank you in advance!
