The iFixIt pro tech toolkit actually makes fixing things nicer, I enjoy using the tools. Managed to fix my step sister's water damaged MacBook Air, which also saved her friend that spilled coke on it a £900 replacement fee. £15 for a new I/O board and some cleaning with alcohol did the job.

Not to sound too mean but she should've charged her "friend" the £900 anyway to send a message. Something like "for the love of Godoka keep your food and drink away from my stuff!"
I mean it's awesome you were able to fix it and for so cheap but that doesn't excuse that person doing something careless like spilling soda on a Mac.
Idk exactly what £900 in USD but I assume it's a lot...

$1150 is a decent amount of money though. You could buy a rather nice desktop for that much.
Sorry if I seem overly harsh. I've just seen too many people be careless with their own stuff and show no respect for taking good care of others' stuff and it annoys me a lot...
I just hope that friend has learned to be more careful not to spill their soda.

I wasn't sure how much I'd use it, but I've actually gotten a fair bit of use out of it so far. I took apart a neighbour's Sony Vaio AIO to replace a WLAN NIC and replace an HDD with an SSD today.
It's nice to have a complete and good quality set of tools. Having something fairly expensive also makes me want to keep everything in good condition and in the right place. With cheap tools and stuff I tend to be pretty disorganised.
