  1. according to the wmic diskdrive status from the windows command line everything is ok, i dont have anythird party media for checking SMART data but if you have any recommendations (that range in price from 0$ to free) im up to try anything
  2. drive is around a year and a half, cheap seagate blue off amazon but nowhere near its rated spun up time, and no i dont believe its SMART, if it is then its settings are default and have never been touched
  3. dont have a linux drive laying around, lemme fire up rufus and give it a shot EDIT: debian installer had no problem identifying the drive and partitioning it for install, (aswell as erasing some items on the drive, presumably the formatting done by the windows install media), its still installing the rest of the system but as far as identifying the drive debian dosen't have a problem with it.
  4. Windows installation media refuses to install windows (10 64bit) to my pc (amd fx, gigabyte board, seagate drive), error code on drive selection screen is as follows "We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files" (i assume this will come up, cant find how to see the so called "Setup log files", though i assume they wouldnt be super useful) Before i get any "RTFMs" realize ive been through around a dozen websites so far trying to find out what is wrong, so to eliviate the "already tried" responses by myself, here's the following Gonna keep this fairly abridged because ive spend 5ish hours ruling stuff out before posting this, the following has already been tried: -change the control type to ACHI (see error code above) -change the control type back to IDE (drive wont show up) -clean the drive (done using 'diskpart') -set the drive as active -format drive using windows media installer software -format the drive for ntfs manually because its been 3 goddamn hours and nothing is working -set drive to x position in the boot order (have tried all of em) -change the install media's usb port (every single one of em) -change the drives sata port (theres only 6 so it didnt take as long) -create an install media from an iso rather than the media creation tool (used rufus, wonderful application, didnt do shit) -turn off then on again (first thing) -assemble the avengers? (didnt have a sky beam on hand) -pray to your favorit flavor of deity (Flying Spaghetti Monster was busy) A trailing note, no other operating system is viable and i cannot revert to my old operating system (or upgrade it), as my previous install of windows has been essentially melted by a somewhat popular vidya game avalible on steam that will remain unamed(because this is the wrong thread for rants), and i had to buy a new liscense because my last one was, less than, incarnate, so to speak
  5. went back into the bios and poked around, accidentally set the first boot device to "cd rom" and not "usb cd rom", thanks for the help man
  6. then how do i run the installer? none of the executables in the disk will execute without throwing errors
  7. Im switching over from ubuntu (currently 14.10) to windows 7 (via a system builder cd), now to ask a simple question with a complicated answer, what do? i know im supposed to format the drive, change the boot order in the bios to my cd (running in a usb optical drive but my mobo has support for it and sever forum posts said it should be fine) but i cant find (look as i have) any commands to format a drive without using a live cd (i installed using a usb) any and all help is greatly appreciated and if youd like i can provide the person with the correct answer a half decent skin circa csgo thx and please help
  8. dont get me wrong they're firmly a tier 2 team, i just dont get how you can be good in a bad situation and they terrible when stuff works?
  9. i am a big flipside fan ever since my friend turned me on to csgo betting and i won my first match on flipside, however there performance at the current major is nothing if not perplexing. they manage to qualify for every major but every time fail to make it out of groups, its almost like there far better online than at lan (something made fairly evident by their match against mouzsports earlier in the tournament, mouz being a team they've contended well with online but got stamped by at lan). i dont know if im missing something but it really just doesn’t make much sense to me how a team can have the ability to beat a team in the seemingly random environment of online qualification, but then loose when everything is working properly at lan?
  10. ooh yeah long time ago, i managed to fiddle about with the screens seating in the phone and most problems subsided, thanks for the input though
  11. removing the screen protector yielded no improvement
  12. hey everyone, a bit of back story before we get started, my megas screen cracked a few months ago, i couldnt use the half of the screen located below the crack, no big deal, 45$ got a new digitalizer and replaced it, worked completely fine for a month or so, afterthat it got somewhat figity in places but no major problems. around an hour ago it started erraticly "pressing" things, i wouldnt even have the phone in my hand and it would just randomly open videos from my youtube subbox, or hit random characters on my keyboard whilst trying to type out messages, i also recently put a "glass" screen protector on my phone. i suspect that the cheap digitalizer coupled with the screen protector is the problem, however if someone were to say "nah man just change a setting over and it totally works" i would do so. however thats un likely so ill be removing the protector shortly. Thanks for any and all help, i really appreciate it.
