where is the original?

At this point of my build I dont even want to order and wait for anything anymore hahahah. You think I can find a small piece of silver at home depot?

Like say I go to target and buy some distilled water will it be fine to use or should I just buy off frozencpu

Do I need Hardware RAID? I really don't want to buy a raid card, and I have like 3 2TB drives, just want to make a home server just to watch movies and stuff anywhere. I want WHS but the whole RAID thing kinda throws me off. Is there a work around to the RAID thing? Also all my drives can't be different on WHS 2011? Is using the old WHS okay to do or is it just bad?

So.. My friend gave me his PC to fix up. Told me he had a dead motherboard and said multiple people had told him the same. I was gonna install it then reinstall windows and stuff. I've now run into huge problems with this whole installation process. First, his computer just would not install Windows.. It wouldn't accept it. Tried like 3 times. So I switched Windows disks. This time it worked, yet I got all the way into Windows and right when it was gonna boot a black screen came up with a cursor blinking. Made another disk (all different downloads) this time it installed but it boots into windows shows the home screen then goes black. It works fine in safe mode. Like perfectly. Ran a diagnostic and said Windows booted suvlccessfully. I'm really at a loss for words here and just don't know what to do for this.

Windows directory would be the folder called.. WINDOWS, right?

so just hook it up and copy everything over? Thing is when i copy it back over i don't want the windows files there twice? If you understand what im saying

i'm mostly worried about documents. Pictures/files. Is there any way to know which programs were installed exactly? I don't mind reinstalling for him

I have my friends HDD (i installed a new motherboard to his pc) and windows didn't boot so i took the drive home and connected it to my PC. My question is how can i copy his HDD to mine, without the Windows files. Like which files/folders don't i copy over to my drive id you catch my drift. I'm going to copy his hdd, format it, take it back to his house put it in his pc install windows on his drive then connect my drive and transfer it back over

Anyone know if that card has a reference PCB? Want to watercool it but idk if it is or not.

I got it a long time ago so the modem is old but I called and upgraded so now I'm supposed to be getting 60 but I never got a new modem

I get the impression that modems really don't matter. My question is, my current modem's downstream is 29Mbps. Should I disregard the modem and buy a new router, or will the slow modem keep the router under 29Mbps? So should I buy a better modem? Main thing for wanting a new one is that it gets real hot and then my internet goes down. Also, 29Mbps isn't what I'm paying for

Live in SoCal. Looking for a 40"-45" TV nothing special. 60hz, 1080p. Not really looking to spend TOO much money. I'd say like $300-$350? Or is that too low?
