  1. My case isn't really designed for airflow, its a work-computer case, not for gaming hardware. I'm getting a new one soon, so don't worry. to Vavetti: The card doesn't go higher than 855Mhz even when under full load. Do you guys have any ideas on how to control HDD temps until I get my new case? doesn't matter if I have to buy anything small for that, a hdd-fan won't do though.
  2. Hey there. I bought a R9 280 X-Edition (not R9 280x) from VTX3D last summer and now two questions have arised. 1. Using HWInfo x64 or MSIAfterburner I can see that the card only goes up to 855Mhz core clock even though it is rated at 960Mhz, changing core clock or power limit in Afterburner does nothing. (Pic of Afterburner screen is attached.) What can I do to get the full power? Using Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and a Corsair CX750M 750W PSU. 2. The card has a dual fan cooler on wich does a good job of keeping the gpu cool but it blows the air into the case instead of out of the back. Can I do something about that? When playing something demanding my case gets kind of warm and my HDDs reach temps of above 40°C. I want to seal the long side with duct tape so that it can only go out the back. Is that a terrible idea?
  3. that shouldn't be a problem if you use the ones that come with the drive that you are taking out, or am I wrong?
  4. I bought the Crucial MMX100 with 256GB for 95€ a few weeks back and it's amazing. 550MB/s write and 330/s read speeds. Nothing more I could want^^ Amazon link for germany here: http://amzn.to/1N4YHaH EDIT: shortened the link
  5. The 3-Pin fans can be connected to PWM headers (4-Pin) without a problem, you just need to connect them the right way around. there should be a plastic guidance which should help you. with the other problem i cant help you, im afraid.
  6. Hey there. I need a new dayly driver Laptop that just needs to be powerful enough for me to surf the web, watch movies and listen to music, no gaming whatsoever. I have a pretty strict budget of up to 500€ including shipping and I am in central europe. Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  7. I would either go with the Corsair Obsidian 900D or the NZXT Switch 810. Both cases are big enough to do anything inside (yes, virtually anything ) and are top notch quality.
  8. Depends totaly on your budget but your build seems to be fine to me. I would switch out the Hard Drive for a normal HDD and get a SSD as soon as the money is there though.
  9. I have just startet HWInfo x64 and in the feature window under operating system it says: " UEFI Boot: Not Present " Still not quite sure if I have to buy a new PC until summer to use Windows 10.
  10. The rest of the hardware needs upgrading as much as the board, it's AMD Phenom II x4 965BE @3.415Ghz 2x4GB Kingston HyperX @1600Mhz VTX3D Radeon R9 280 X-Edition and then some drives wich shouldn't matter.
  11. I've heard from multiple sources (tomshardware multiple times) that vsync might be the problem. Try to disable it ingame and/or in the driver UI.
  12. Hey there. I do have quite the old PC and want to upgrade soon and since I read the Windows 10 system requirements that have just been released I was asking myself if I need to upgrade now or if I could use Windows 10 with my board. The information I have is that Windows 10 needs at least 8- or 7-Inch-Display with at least 800x600 resolution Firmware, UEFI 2.3.1 and Secure Boot Enabled RAM: 2 GB (64-Bit) or 1 GB (32-Bit) Hard Drive Space: 20 GB (64-Bit) or 16 GB (32-Bit) Graphics: DirectX-9-capable Graphics Card I do meet all of the requirements except for the UEFI, or at least I am not sure about it. I have the GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3 (rev2.1) and I am not quite sure if the board is capable of handling UEFI 2.3.1 and Security Boot. Help and/or information is apreciated. Thanks and have a nice day. EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention that I have already updated to the newest BIOS from the GIGABYTE website.
