  1. 60 FPS would not be very important to me, as this is mostly for watching netflix and youtube. This is a replacement TV for the livining room as our old one is broke. Thank you for your input tml
  2. I am going to buy a 60'-70' TV for the living room(65' is ideal), I am very interested in 4k, I don't want a smart tv but it seems there are no non smart 4k tv's (comfrimation needed). my budget is $1200-$2200. The use case is pretty extreme, we have people looking at the tv from a few different angles, the TV will most likely never be turned off(maybe 1-2 hours/mo). most all viewing would be from a good 10 feet away. the TV would most likely have a media PC hooked up to it for netflix and youtube, as I will probably not accept the ToS/EULA for smart tv features, Any advice or particular good deals or products would be much appreciated, I really don't know how to go about comparing different brands and features, Thanks
  3. Thanks so much guy's. Sean I really appreciate you taking the time. I am going to get all this and post when I am done(or failed).
  4. Hello, so as a PC gamer and game programmer there are 2 things I want my PC to do, I need to run game dev softwar like gimp, blender, and unity, I don't do much rendering. I like to play sandbox games and I of course love the good graphics. My PC is 5 or 6 years old and i am unable to play most modern games as DX 10 and 9 are fading, I also don't really remember what 60 FPS is. My plan is to take some key parts of my current system and use them to offset the new system, this hopefully can help get me a much better system. Parts I currently have are: motherboard EVGA P55 SLI E655 Graphics; GeForce GTX 260 (896MB) (MSI) CPU: Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.67GHz Ram:: 12.0 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 667MHz 1333 (Magic talent) Power: antec truepower 750watt PS Case: antec 900 Cooling(I am a noob here) I have I think 2x 75mm fans in the front a 125mm on top and another a 50-75mm fan in the back, my pc currently runs really cool off and under load. A few things seem to be a given for me, my CPU and graphics card are no good, and I think I want to have a "part bucket" to keep them in for maybe a media PC build later on. I think what could be the real money saver here is the Case, Power supply, and the ram. My upgrade budget is $800 - $1000. Some of my own thoughts. I have never put a PC together, however I think I feel confident that I can, I have watched linus and others for some time now. I think an AMD build may help me out for my needs, as they seem to have good multicore CPU's and cheap GPU's with large amounts of VRAM something I use a lot of with duel monitors and the types of games I play, also in game development. I don't really care about one company over the other, but I think my points are valid. here is what is on my list atm AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) $180 Ram 12GB DDR3(free) PS 750w (Free) GIGABYTE R9 290X $340 after rebate ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX $185 plus shipping Seagate Barracuda 7200 3TB HDD $100 Total upgrade: $800 I am planning on upgrading this week. What I am looking for in advice, is better hardware for near same price no more than 200 total added value, and if you think this system will drive my needs. I can hopefully clarify anything I missed, Thank you.
