  1. What is the problem with that "half -assed crap?" It is quiter and keeps the card cooler. The other option would be a aftermarket GPU cooler. But that would be louder and wouldn't perform as good. A custom water loop does cost way more If you want to do it right and I simply don't have a few thousands lieing arround.
  2. Hey there, short question. I've seen this picture on Andantech. http://images.anandtech.com/doci/9059/NVC2142216_8_575px.jpg If I just pull the blower off and put the G10 on it, could I let the stock alumic heat sink on it? Since NVIDIA does let the backside VRAM without a heatsink, I guess I could let them as they are or would you recommend to buy heatsinks for a load of money to put them on the backside, frontside VRAM and some on the VRM?
  3. Hey there! My first intention was to buy one of these PCIe raid SSD's as bootdrive but then I did remember Linus' Kingston Predator video. On there press site they mentioned something like release in february if I remember correctly. A guy with contact to the PR of HyperX said release would be 16. march 2015 in europe. Just would like to know what you guys expect. The rumors about the Titan X wasn't that wrong eighter and safed me from buying the 980. So, any advice is appreciated. Edit: I also have a question about booting on M.2. I've seen ASUS' advertising of booting all PCIe devices on the same time instead of in a row. Is this really that special or is it the usual stuff on m.2. ?
  4. Im not talking about modding the card and keeping the warranty. I just said that that was the reason why this Question did come through my mind. I just wan't to be able to RMA it, if it dies while I use it.
  5. I did hear that the gtx titan x is just repacked so .. i guess the ASUS argument wont work here . So I'll wait for some EU users . Anyways, thanks for your reply .
  6. Hey there! Due to the advises I got in the modding section I remembered to take care of the warranty thingy. I "heard" that for example ASUS has pretty ... "worse" RMA solutions and customer service in Europe. I had a Rampage IV Extreme before and I was pretty fine with it and I'm also pretty fine with all my other ASUS products but since the new TITAN X has basically no difference in terms of the manufacture I would like to choose a company with a great customer service. I can choose between these manufactures: ASUS Palit MSI GIGABYTE EVGA Every advice is heavily appreciated
  7. Well. Then i'll wait untill my warranty runs off .
  8. Hey there! I ordered a new Card with the stock NVIDIA cooler. I did order all my other parts before and was pretty much frightened by the release of the new card. Now my whole system is black, red except the ordered cards. In a other post someone said I could use some sort of platic tape to change the color. Since I have absolutly no idea what type and color I need to make a light green led shining red I decided to ask you guys .
  9. Personally I agree in terms of design. I also like the idea of blower cards but I just had AMD ones and ye. No comment . I'm just wondering about the OC possibility. Anyways, the last remaining question now is about the green GEFORCE thingy on the site. I was about to go with gtx 980 matrix platinums since they would fit my whole color theme perfect. Do you guys know if there are possibilitys to change the color, put some sort of adhesive tape on it to change the color or anything like that? I also would like to know how easy it is to undo the stock NVIDIA coolers in terms of thermal compound. I dont know how much of a difference my IC Diamond will do but since Nvidia has this auto tuning feature I would like to go for it.
  10. Hey there! I'm about to order some Titan X's instead of the 980's since the price difference from the custom 980 I did choose to the Titan X isn't that much compared to the increase. Now I have some questions. Since I couldnt find any custom cooler on the older Titans (by ASUS), are there any chances that custom titan x's will come out? Next question is about the whole custom stuff. Since the for example ASUS GTX Titan X looks like the NVIDIA default, is there any noticeable difference?
  11. The problem with the LG ones is the hight adjustment. If I have to put like boxes below them I would go crazy. Like spending 800€ - 1000€ on a Monitor that actually cant even do anything in terms of ergonomics. Anyways, here is a little list of monitors I could imagine to pick as alternatives for the PA ones. ASUS PB278QR [2560 x 1440 IPS] (Dynamic contrast: 80.000.000:1) ASUS PB279Q [3840 x 2160 IPS,AHVA] (Dynamic contrast: 100.000.000:1) AOC u3477Pqu [3440 x 1440 IPS] (Dynamic contrast: 80.000.000:1)
  12. Hey there! I have a situation here and could need some advices. My decision for a gaming monitor is quite solid. The ASUS PG278Q. Codename: ROG SWIFT. It hast everything I need, looks badass and the price is okay. But if it comes to monitors for "work" im done. My first idea was the PA279Q. Same resolution and sice as the PG278Q so they will look somewhat nice close to each other, same monitor adjustments in terms of hight, pivit and so on and the price around 800€ is fine aswell. But, I actually dont need 10bit and that high grade of a professional monitor. I edit Videos and Photos for Device end users so it is pretty much depending on which device they use. I had ~300€ EIZO monitors earlyer and they did the job just well but were 1080p. So my first question is 1440p ultrawide vs some larger screens. I have littelary no Idea how it will be to work on such big screens in terms of head direction changing and so on. But I like the imagination of multiple windows, lots of space and the idea of editing 1080p / 1440p videos without entering the preview all day long. I have a edged desk (1m desk and 1,20m desk) but the screens could stand on the edges and overlapp for example if they would go to large. Anyways, if you can recommend something, go ahead
