  1. I just watched that video and it seems pretty damn easy to change it over. Im going to try that now I guess.
  2. Sorry if I was confusing. It started on either the 3770k or 4770k as windows 7. I upgraded to a 5820k and windows 10 was then installed under the same product key and SSD. I have since upgraded again to a 5600 and a 6800xt. I want to enable SAM which Im starting to believe is best to just do a fresh install on my new NVME SSD. Windows wont have any issues with me trying to activate this key on a new drive right? I have the key from my first computer written down and thats the key I'm still using.
  3. I figured that would be the best bet... I didnt want to do a fresh install but I also got my first NVME SSD. Can I use my same windows key after I reinstall or do I need deactivate mine first?
  4. I recently rebuilt my PC and got a ryzen 5 5600 and a 6800XT. I want to enable SAM but it has to disable legacy mode on bootup and when I try and boot into UEFI I cant launch windows. Windows was originally installed as windows 7 on a 3770k or 4770k. Not sure which one. I believe that could be the cause of my problem? Is there any way to boot into UEFI without reinstalling windows completely?
  5. I dont think I need a nicer CPU. I only game and even then its not THAT often. Usually not daily. CPU was on its last legs. I started having problems booting so thats what made me decide to just go for it.
  6. Little update. I ended up getting some new stuff. I got an AMD 5600 and a 6800-XT. MUCH better performance on 1440p and the super resolution or whatever its called to upscale helps fps a ton as well!
  7. Last night I went and picked up a 6800-XT and took out my 1080Ti. Now when I close a window or anything I get a weird flickering on my main monitor. I was just curious if this is normal or if there is something weird going on. Never experienced this before. I should also add that my main monitor is 1440p and 144hz (Windows only lets me do 120 though?) while my other monitors are 1080p and 60hz. MonitorWeird.mov
  8. Sounds good! Thanks. Pretty much everyone said to keep it. I was mainly worried about age.
  9. Thank you. Thats kind of what I figured. Last time I went to microcenter they told me the same thing. Which surprised me since they get commission. Do you think this PC will last me other 2 years? Thatll make this CPU 10 years old so that kind of worries me.
  10. This is true. I just wasnt sure if its WORTH it to upgrade. I dont WANT too but do I NEED too?
  11. Budget (including currency): $1500 USD Country: Land of the free Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Some gaming. New CoD maybe? I dont play games all that much. I dont do any video editing or anything. Mostly youtube and the occasional gaming. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Im a little worried about my PC taking a crap on me and I dont want that. But is it really worth upgrading or can I get a few more years out of this build? Im not really into computers anymore so I dont know all of the new hardware and honestly I dont really have the interest too. If I buy a new PC I'll buy a prebuilt more than likely. I saw the LTT video about pre builds so I've been looking at iBuyPower. My current build is: CPU: i7 5820K Motherboard: GIGABYTE G1 Gaming 5P RAM: 16Gb DDR4 - Corsair GPU(s): EVGA GTX 1080Ti Case: NZXT H440 Storage: 4x 250gb SSD + 2TB HDD PSU: Corsair RM850x Cooling: H100i
  12. I've been having a ton of issues with games lately. Really inconsistent and high ping. I have Xfinity internet "Up to 1200Mbps" with a Netgear CM1000V2 modem and a Netgear something router. It shouldn't be old gear or anything but Im very annoyed. I have a brand new Netgear AC1900 Wireless adapter as well. I've replaced everything because I felt that old hardware might be the issue. It doesn't seem other people in the family are having issues, but they also don't play games, they just stream movies and TV.
  13. I have a MSI GS60 that I purchased back in 2017 and one day after leaving my college class my laptop screen refused to turn on after turning the laptop back on from sleep mode. This happens every time I try to wake up the computer from sleep mode. If I turn off the laptop and turn it back on the screen works every time without failure. Specs: Some SSD i7 6700HQ GTX 970m Thats all I really know about the laptop. I ended up moving back home right as this started happening so the laptop has just been sitting in a case for the last 2 /12 years and the issue persists. Any help would be appreciated, I don't want to have to spend too much to get it fixed it. It's a nice laptop but I just don't use it all that much.
  14. Right now I put this as the solved answer. I'll try it when I get home. I'll keep you updated on if that's the issue.
  15. There's no way I'm running out of vram. I used too have a 4K monitor and it didn't use up all of my vram. I can double check when I go home for the weekend (in university) I put my games on my SSD I only use my HDD for my trash memes and junk files. If it was vram why is no one else having the vram issue playing this res or higher
  16. Mainly CSGO, some minecraft. PUBG. Rainbow Six Siege. Foxhole. Happens with every game. 1440p 144Hz
  17. Nothing. I can have just the game open and it still does it. I always do a clean install of my gpu drivers as well so it wouldn't be the drivers. I have also re-installed them to test this. It's on any game, even a game like Minecraft. It's becoming a real annoying problem.
  18. I currently have a dual SLI 970 setup and recently I have been having an issue that is extremely annoying. When I am playing a game everything will be fine, stable fps, no stuttering, then all of a sudden I drop to 10 frames for about 15-20 seconds and then everything is fine again. This happens about once every 30-45 minutes. My temps seemed to be fine on the gpu(80). CPU temps are fine. Drivers are up too date. I'm not sure what it could be so any suggestions would be great. I do not have access to my PC until Friday night so I will not be able to test anything as of right now. All of my specs in my signature are up too date.
  19. I am wanting a new case, but I'm not sure what to get. My current case is the NZXT H440 which is an ATX case, but my motherboard barely fits in it. I'm not sure if a different ATX case will work like this one does though because my motherboard is EATX. I saw this case at Microcenter and really liked it but am not sure if it will work. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139087&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Cases+(Computer+Cases+-+ATX+Form)-_-N82E16811139087&gclid=CjwKEAiA2abEBRCdx7PqqunM1CYSJABf3qvacZAPHGS1tY1NtF96uZAWfmlw5mfhpa44bLKBVBeVWhoCnPTw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds I am wanting something like that, but the only thing I could find was an IN WIN 909 case which was $400 and that is way out of my budget. I am wanting something that is tempered glass, or has a nice red/black theme. I love brushed aluminum cases. Don't want one that looks cheap. I like the NZXT H440 because it has the PSU Cover which makes cable management look a lot better. Budget is $200 MAX.
  20. The weird thing is when I bend the screen it goes away, and it's spread out, kind of fades.
  21. The screen issue is still happening though, it's an MSI GS60
