i have 3 680 4gb... 3 280x would be a sidegrade and i already had 3 7970's in the past. unless of course you mean 290x
-
Just gonna wait...
-
yeah thanks.. sorry i was a little bit of a d*** back there, I was just remembering the stupid yellow fading and losing connection to all of my monitors with the 7970's and I probably will just end up waiting and giving these cards to my brother because he is due for an upgrade after I get whatever AMD/Nvidia throw at me this coming year...
-
Racing sims take full advantage of three screens and i don't play shooters all that often so i don't care for them. I decided on the 780ti sli so.. that won't be a problem 3gb isn't going to bottleneck anything at 5760x1080, my 680s are the 4gb models and i wish i had saved the money and gotten the 2gb models because my vram usage at 1440p is never above 1.7gb. I have already done the AMD grind, i had 5870s back in the day and then i had three 7970's which i swapped for 680s that i got on the cheap because i couldn't deal with the drivers anymore. To tell you the truth I don't know why i even considered going through that again.
-
Well not only did i wake up with a hangover this morning... i was also greeted with the news that my 4K monitor isn't actually going to come. Supposedly i ordered it but they didn't actually have it in stock. So I've decided that i am just going to get 3 1080p screens to go with my logitech g27 and get two 780ti.
-
I was gonna go... sleep this off... but i decided that I should say that the 680's are only going to be sold for what they are worth (which isn't much any more) so that i can avoid basically giving them away like i had to with my 5870s way baaaaaaaaaaaaack when................. (i'm still drunk and keyboards and big monitors make my head hurt but you raised a point i should have covered earlier)
-
Keep in kind that the reason for selling isn't performance. It is so that i can still sell these things and get a little cash back... (improper grammar i blame Coors Light)
-
The psu isn't a problem i have a corsair ax1200i and an enermax 1350w platimax in this monster. Windows 7 ultimate, 2560x1440 with a 4k monitor in the mail -Just realized i wrote ans instead of and! I posted this right before going to a friends... in fact i'm still drunk whilst i'm writing this and the keyboard is very blurry........

Decisions Decisions Decisions... The system I am currently running has 3 GTX 680 4gb (pictured above) and I want to upgrade these things before they are worth nothing anymore. My options are in the title but i will say them again 2x GTX 780ti that I will hack the bios on and watercool or 3x R9 290x that will be overclocked and possibly hacked any and all feedback is appreciated thanks -Will

Ah that makes sense... if you want an honest opinion from someone that knows a little more about pc part picking then i do you should head over to the builds and planning area im sure they will know a lot. (i'm also sleepy) Nice rig btw!
-
Wait... you have an 8350? why would you want to buy an 8150 that is last gen???
-
looking at your under-bio... i see why you picked 32gbs of ram..
-
Hate to critique but unless you want to make a HUGE ramdisk 32gb of ram is kind of useless.... also tigerdirect sells 8150s for $250!... that is ridiculous.... is that the actual price in Canada becasue down here it is about $170... everyhting else is right and i assume Canadian dollars about equal U.S. dollars... forgive me if i'm being a biggot. (and if my grammar is bad it's late)

The 900d is GIGANTIC. My friend has a rig in a 600t, nifty little case... he's running a Phenom quad core and a gtx 480 so not this level of extreme.
