  1. Well seems im gonna throw this 300 euro mobo in the trash cause ive tried everything now... every other part works perfectly ...It just wont boot . There is a fckign stand by light , im just so stressed about this.
  2. So tomorrow ill try resetting the cmos and i will report back if anything happend edit : Oh and can you even cmos a z97 series board easily?
  3. Look at the top i posted the link where u can see the plate which says asus , it doesnt say what it is anywhere
  4. No like on the first press it didnt start but on the second try it worked perfectly and i tought the psu WAS dodgy, until i tried it and it worked
  5. Can it be the bios fault cause like the motherboard gets quite hot from one spot
  6. Hi there! I have been working on pcs for a long time but i have never ever ran into something like this. So recently my friend did a restart and he had a black screen for 10m he turned it off and it didnt boot anymore - I was like "lol u prob unpluged something cause the fans would start spinning" But when i went to his place he wasnt lying, it didnt turn on only a GREEN light was on , on the motherboard and one spot on it got really hot (wtf?) but no fans started to spin. - I took the parts gpu, cpu, psu and tested them : the psu was kinda dodgy but it worked after second boot , cpu totally ok , gpu working aswell . But if it has power why wont it turn on ?(atleast the fans should) And how did it randomly die and what? And even using the shortage tehnique it wont boot .... So did the motherboard die?... how can i test anything . Will awnser every single question cause i cant crack this issue edit: 970 100m aniv editon i7 4970k cx750m some ram 8gb this is the motherboard https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-A/ << gets hot on the plate that says asus edit 2 : So after doing a cmos it stiil doesnt boot and the green light stays on ... so can the mobo be dead cause every other part works ...? Like i dont want to buy a new mobo yet cause it was expensive .. And is there any point in trying a diffrent cpu?
  7. oh if you meant me then no not when normally using it
  8. I mean it was kinda my fault .. so well thanks guys but i am just retarded (first pc build and fucked up)
  9. oh my god you guys are geniuses the ssd is broken from the bottom... But does that mean i spent money on an ssd and just have to throw it away ... well f me
  10. Hi there ! pc specs: cpu - i5 6600 gpu - msi 970 psu - Corsair CX 600 mobo - Asrock h170 pro 4 Ram - kingston ddr4 (4x2) After a month of messing around with my pc i have ran into so many blue screens--- (memory management and also some other random errors) They only appeared when playing on idle it never crashed--- It only crashes 30m after playing - (i tryed cpu-z stress test , i used prime95 for ram testing, i even did memcheck overnight) And now it came out that skylake cpus have problems and that they randomly crash .. So i tought this might be a soulution to my prob. In an article it said that there will be an update with mobo companies (asrock including) BUT HOW DO I GET THE UPDATE? If possible please give me a link. And i contacted intel but they started asking the regular questions but i allrdy know whats wrong... I really need help this is absolute hell .. i cant play anything .. I think you cant post links here but u can just google `skylake crashing` for articles ... I really need help...
  11. But this might be a stupid question but I wanted to buy an 80-100euro mobo and a 200euro cpu but as having one gpu is there anypoint buying an matx board just to buy an more expensive cpu?
  12. Hi there! I have a 300euro budget and my pc specs are : 6gb random ram I3 560 3.33ghz 2core 270x windforce oc 2gb 550 psu So i wanted to ask Should i go for an 970? Or a new mobo/cpu(4460) and keep my 270x Which one will give me more performance?
  13. Hello people! Budget (under 250/300) I want to gift my son something this year and i tought upgrading his pc might be a good thing But the problem is what to upgrade? He has a 270x windforce 2gb i3 560 3.33ghz 2core <<(and uses and older socket) I think that the 270x is stiil a good card so should i upgrade the cpu to get the most out of the 270x... or the 560 isnt even bottlenecking it... Or i should get a better gpu for him like a 970..960(perfer the 960 more cause of the price) but then the cpu starts bottlenecking doesnt it... Or should i got for a 960 and a cheap 4/6 core amd cpu? Well thats why im asking for help but so far i have tought of 960/970/370/380/290x/ keep the i3 960/cheap amd cpu or just upgrade the cpu for like 150/200 cause i need a new mobo for him Theres so many possiblityes and i really need your help guys... i dont want him to start complaining (and yes i can allways upgrade his pc but money isnt falling from the sky right now..) Thank you in advance ..
