My RAID 0 messed up, one of my drives may be busted, help
Trench Wastage replied to Trench Wastage's topic in Storage Devices
Yes the drive still shows in BIOS, should probably edit the post to have that important detail -
I have 2 WD green 2tb hard drives in my system primarily for game storage. They were sitting separate for a while after I got the second one (friend's dad had a few laying around and offered me one) and one of them was yet to be used. So I figured why not put them together in a software RAID 0. I went through the process right in windows and then hammered the array with game downloads overnight (maybe not the best idea I've ever had). Next morning I shut down the computer before heading to school. When I got back and turned the PC back on, I noticed that the games I installed weren't showing in steam, so I checked my file explorer and my raid array wasn't showing up properly. I had named it "WD Green RAID 0" and when I looked it was just called "local disk" and the bar indicating how much storage was used/remaining was gone. I went into manage storage spaces and deleted the pool of the 2 drives, then went into disk management. One drive was showing separate and unallocated, while the other one was showing as "disk 4, unknown, 3717.25 GB, Not initialized", it is definitely not a 4tb drive, so it must think it's still the RAID array. When I try to initialize it, it gives me a storage space internal error. I have swapped around sata ports and even gone so far as completely reinstalling windows to see if it would show the drive on it's own again. Nothing changed. At this point I have left the working drive unallocated, and have no idea if I even can get the other drive working again. Good people of LTT forum, I need your guidance. Edit: Drive still shows in bios

When I try to launch both Star wars battlefront and battlefield 4, this error comes up and the game crashes. Have tried updating drivers and reinstalling the game, neither of which have worked. Tried changing settings in Geforce experience game optimizer which also did nothing

Asus sabertooth z97 mark 2 bios trouble
Trench Wastage replied to Trench Wastage's topic in Troubleshooting
I thought that it was just a mandatory update, this is my first pc so I don't know everything -
A notificatuon popped up on the windows desktop for asus ez update saying there was a bios update, I started to install the update and my sound started echoeing randomly, I restarted my pc and it brought me to a screen telling me to move z97st2.cap to a removable usb drive or hdd, it tells me to insert the asus support disk into my disk drive, so I do. I then restart my pc again and I am brought to the american megatrends window where it says I have a cpu fan error and to press f1 to move to setup, so I do and it brings to a bios page where it shows me four tabs I can click on, whenever I click on one it freezes and I have to restart again, I need help to move the z97st2.cap file to my usb drive. I have a feeling I screwed something up.

Reboot loop on asus sabertooth z97 mark 2
Trench Wastage replied to Trench Wastage's topic in Troubleshooting
I havent overclocked much, only to 4.4 ghz, I have an h100i gtx if that helps at all -
My PC was booting fine for the past x-number of months, until this morning. I have a 4790k, 8gb of hyperX fury black memory, an 850w evga psu and its built in an ethoo pro. I was fixing up the cable management last night, but didnt boot it after that. This morning I tried to boot it up, and it would turn on for a second, then turn off and the cycle would repeat. What can I do?
