  1. I am building or upgrading parts for a friend's rig, and I wanted to ask opinions about this. He currently has a system with an i7 3770 and 8 gb of ddr3 ram with a amd 6700 series gpu. Now of course I am going to be changing that gpu, but do you guys think it is worth it to build a whole new system with an i5 6600(or might be 6500 depending on the budget) and an r9 380, or should he just upgrade gpu and a few other stuff and leave cpu there for a year or two? He mostly plays Total War, or COH2 type games. Also, if you say upgrade some parts, which parts, aside from gpu and psu do you guys suggest I should consider upgrading. Thank you for reading, any response is appriciated.
  2. I have been using Windows 10 for some time now. I was using it with my Microsoft account. Some time later, I had to change the password of my Microsoft account. After this, obviously when logging in, Windows tries to use the stored old password and fails. Then I have to log in with the new password manually, but I don't want to do that everytime. Is there a way to change the stored password? Any help is appriciated.
  3. so windows memory test, or whatever it is called, did not find any fault. Though when I was in 8.1, the issue occcured much more often than now. For now, I see it like 2 times a month tops. Used to be couple times a week at least. And I haven't had the bsod since like a week, maybe the bios update i did today solved it, will update this thread if it occurs again, thank you for your efforts
  4. yes a usb headset and yes I saw that as well but I checked all my drivers and they all seemed up to date. What do you need me do at this point? also, in one thread(http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/24602-bsod-when-playing-mw2-bf3-etc.html) the guy said he found out the issue was his ram, how can I find out if this is the case, and how can I prove it to the retailer so I can get it changed if it is the problem?
  5. First off, hardware specs: Intel i7 4770(non k) MSI R9 280X 3GB Edition MSI H81M-P33 Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB HyperX Fury Black DDR3 1x8GB @1600Mhz Peripherals: Shitty nonamer brand mouse and keyboard Logitech G430 Headset So, the thing is, I have been getting this BSOD at random times, not necessarily while gaming. It has happened on windows 8.1 before, not happening on windows 10. The error code is 3b, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION(ladfGSRamd64.sys). It appears to be a Logitech driver. I have contacted Logitech support but got a most probably automatic message sayingn the BSOD wasn't because of the driver, and there may be something wrong with my motherboard drivers. Can anyone here help? I can provide any further information needed. All responses appreciated.
  6. So guys, I was playing csgo yesterday with no problem on 4:3 1360x1024. Today, I woke up, and there was a catalyst control center update, and I went ahead and did it, and now in the game, on the 4:3 aspect ratio, I have up until 1024x768. Also some of the resolutions on 16:9 are also missing, but my native 1600x900 is there. I also tried going back to the old drivers but it didn't work. What can I do guys, I liked the 1360x1024 res. Thanks to everybody who responds.
  7. Nah after I typed this, I opened up the case and looked inside, One of the SATA cables was touching the blades of the fan and was preventing it from spinning. I moved the SATA cable away, and it is working just fine Thank you either way for your answer.
  8. So I got MSI R9 280X Gaming Edition a couple days back, and I saw that one of the fans are not spinning. The fan closer to the GPU core is spinning alright, but the other is not spinning at all. I know in low temps, they are supposed to stop and all, but even if I put load on my card, the second fan does not spin. Am I looking at a faulty card?
  9. Thank you dude, and if I want to take it out, do I need to push the latch back down, or will it pop off if I pull the card?
  10. So hey guys, my question is about the latch of the PCIe x16 connector of MSI H81M-P33 motherboard. The thing is, it doesn't look like any other latch I have seen in many videos I have watched, and I am a bit worried because I will be installing a graphics card in a couple of hours and I don't want to break the board by applying excess pressure when the latch is closed or something. Or does the latch even open or close, because it seemed like I couldn't move the handle-like thingy, although I only tried so with very little pressure. This is my question, all answers are appreciated.
  11. thank you, i think i will go with the r9 280 unless i suddenly get a budget change. What do you think about the cpu cooling though?
  12. my board has 2.0 i am sure of that, aren't pcie ports backwards compatible that's what i am asking really
  13. i won't be overclocking my card, and also i don't play that demanding games and i don't want to put anything that has way much performance on this medium level pc for now. i play csgo mostly and some other new games but i am wiling to downgrade some graphics options anyways. and also, on my mobo i have pcie x16 2.0 instead of 3.0, will that make a change?
  14. msi r9 280 has twinfrozr, do you think it will get as hot as the reference ones
