  1. There are better monitors than the PG278Q at the moment. I would look into the used section of your local classifed to see if you can snipe one. Yesterday, I purchased this exact monitor for 675 Canadian dollars. It was sealed and never opened. The guy even let me test it to make sure everything was there and works. I think it is definitely over priced buying it brand new at this point as it is also a bit dated.
  2. Thanks everyone. The transaction was very smooth. He came down my driveway in a pink sports car and brought the monitor right inside. The monitor was definitely 100 percent still sealed and in the original packaging of the asus box. He even brought the receipt and showed it to me. He spent over 1000 bucks after taxes for the monitor. Then we proceeded to open the item and it was all safely packaged with no damaged product. We put the monitor together and ran some tests for dead pixels. I havent tried the gsync feature yet, but it was a very smooth transaction. After giving this man my money, he told me that if I ever need any other products just message him and he would see what he could do and would give me his best prices. He was in 20's and most definitely loaded. Thank you guys for all your advice and help!
  3. He claims its brand new in box and sealed.
  4. I would like to thank everyone for their prompt responses. The person has actually decided to bring it over tomorrow for the deal. I guess ill just open it up there and hope to see a new monitor. I dont think he will allow me to test a brand new product before buying it.
  5. So on my local classified's.. I found an ROG swift PG278Q monitor to claims to be in box and sealed for $675. The monitor brand new is at least 850 before taxes here in canada. I had arranged for a meet up tomorrow to purchase it. I was wondering why the owner would not return it for the full price and when asked, he said he needed the receipt for accounting/tax related issues for their business, but they said i could take a look at the receipt they had. Is this too good to be true?
  6. Are you looking for something more quiet? flashy? These are all pretty good options. I am currently using the h440 and its not as quiet as you may think even though there are sound dampening material if you are going with stock and using the fan splitter. Just a heads up. Ways to get around that are to use the on board system fan plugs depending on how many fans you will be using you man need fan split cables. Another option is to use a fan controller like the grid+ or something.
  7. I love microcenter. I drive from Canada to the closest one sometimes just for the savings and awesome exchange and refund policies compared to Canada. Besides 20 off for a motherboard if you are purchasing with a cpu, ask the employees to see what else they can do, because they offered me like cheaper SSD and RAM as well. Great service and deals.
  8. Just reporting back, it seems to be a motherboard problem for me as well. All is good now. Thank you all!
  9. Thank you very much. I will RMA it this weekend and report back when I receive a new board
  10. Hi, The bios I am currently using is the most up to date according to the MSI website. Have you found a solution to the problem?
  11. So i also found that my RAM cannot run at the advertised speed of 2800mhz. When i use XMP to bring it to 2800mhz and 1.2v, the system crashes very shortly, but when i reset it back to default settings then everything is fine.
  12. Thank you for your suggestions btw. Also, if it was defective RAM.. wouldnt the issues show up on Memtest?
  13. Mine are definitely on default settings, I think the XMP setting OC's the RAM. This is the RAM i have http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_1326&item_id=086616 It seems the stock volts are at 1.2
  14. what does that do and by increments of how much?
  15. None of the above actually, No XMP or input any timings or volts. Just put them in and didnt change any settings. Stock setting should already be at safe timings and volts if im not mistaken
