  1. Thanks for replying, i did try that utility and it is pretty good. Though this thread is more about the general issue of Intel chipset drivers simply not being available/shown on their website for anything past year 2017. To elaborate, these are some of the latest chipsets that are shown by intel to be supported by their latest chipset software: Z370, Q370, B360 etc (year 2017). There is nothing newer listed in the "this download is valid for the products listed below" section for the latest intel chipset drivers.
  2. Yes, if their "This download is valid for the product(s) listed below." list is to be trusted then the latest chipset they support is akin to a Z370 which came from 2017. That is why i am asking, because i can find no official clearly labeled chipset drivers for more modern chipsets on Intels website.
  3. From my experience in the previous decade+ the most reliably updated place to get latest intel chipset drivers (inf utility or w/e) for your generation/model was at Intel official website. Particularly because the various msi/asus/gigabyte... motherboard and various laptop manufacturers did not regularly & reliably update their own website driver support pages with the newest intel chipset drivers, especially for the "not latest" models. Also because windows update usually has pretty old drivers to offer. However for quite a few years now it seems to me that Intel has, perhaps intentionally, removed/hidden their chipset driver software updates from their websites? Can anyone please enlighten me on this topic?
  4. Really wonder how much attention this topic would have received if a man reported the same experiences. Personally i think not even 10% , but who knows. Either way hopefully justice gets met after a fair investigation, since both work harassment and baseless public slandering have no place in a civilized society.
  5. Zero proof, convenient timing for "revealing" things.
  6. Thank you all for replying! I play various games at 1080p but the monitors are just the usual 60mhz, might replace them with some 144mhz at some point. I just saw this video about the difference Gpu VRAM makes at 1080p and i was shocked at the results "16GB vs. 8GB VRAM: Radeon RX 6800 vs. GeForce RTX 3070, 2023 Revisit" Its from Hardware Unboxing and to cut a long story short i feel i need to steer clear of any GPUs with less than 16GB of ram (even for 1080p), especially considering i buy GPUs like once every 5+ years.
  7. Hello, thank you for helping out. Currently i have: - Intel Core i9 10900KF - RAM 32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 - motherboard "Micro-Star International Co. Ltd. MEG Z490 ACE (MS-7C71) (U3E1)" - coolermaster v850 PSU - pciE sound card Sound Blaster Z SE I am thinking of getting an RTX 4070 TI to replace my ancient GTX 1060. But since my Motherboard + CPU combination is a bit out of date i dont know can they fully support the RTX 4070 TI? For example issues such as having only PCIE 3.0 support and unknown compatibility with the "Resizable BAR" feature and i dont know what else. I am also worried about the pciE sound card taking PCIE3.0 lanes from the RXT 4070 TI needs? Can anyone please advise?
  8. Hello, if anyone can please advise about GPUs. I have an old GTX 1060 that i am looking to replace this year. I was thinking between RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 4070, or some AMD 7000 series equivalent. But as far as i know AMD has not yet released their counterparts to RTX 4070 and 4070Ti. Does anyone know approximately when will these AMD gpus be available for purchase (in europe)? Thank you!
  9. Can anyone please suggest a simple way to automate doing some various basic config in Windows 7 & 10 like: - set power plan in Power Options (control panel) to High Performance - set Communications in Sound CP to "Do Nothing" - set Visual Effects in Performance Options under System to "adjust for best performance" - set the Time Zone under Date & time - disable Enhance Pointer Precision under Mouse in Control Panel - set all three sliders in Keyboard in CPanel to Short/Fast/Fast - set certain services to Automatic like the SSDP Discovery - change various new settings in the Windows 10 Settings like disabling Notifications, Game Bar and Focus Assist Those are examples of some of the CPanel/Settings i need to do on basically every computer i install/reinstall so i would really love a way to "one click" the whole process. I have tried googling the various related topics but in the vast majority of cases the methods i saw were very complicated and way beyond my knowledge. I am hoping there is some simplistic GUI tool that can make a batch/script or something similar that doesnt require an advanced knowledge of Powershell or Regedit. Thank you for reading and helping out.
  10. Can anyone please check and verify is the newest Samsung SSD 960 EVO NVMe M.2 500GB compatible with the motherboard Asus LGA1150 Z97 MAXIMUS VII HERO? I tried comparing the specifications but i am not familiar with tech so i don't want to make an expensive mistake. Thank you very much for helping me out.
  11. I recently started using the various bootable anti-virus/malware scanners, like the Kaspersky's Rescue Disk. However i am really interested in how do these bootable scans compare to the "normal" Windows run scans. For example, would a maximum scan from Kaspersky Rescue Disk find as many malware/viruses as a max scan from Kaspersky Total Security? Assuming both anti-virus/malware scanners are up to date (latest versions and databases), which is expected to reliably find and clean more viruses/malware? Thank you for helping out
  12. I was recently cleaning my sisters laptop from all the regular junk people get their computers infected by. She was not using any kind of anti-virus or anti-malware so there is a lot of junk, and formatting the pc is not an option at this moment. Anyway i install programs like Kaspersky Total Security, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Norton 360, Avast and ESET to remove the junk. One after the other (waiting for the previous to finish and then restart PC) i use each of these programs to perform the most thorough scan possible (including tweaking settings for maximum "paranoia"). To cut the story short, these programs removed A BUNCH of junk but there is still some crap on the laptop that NONE of those programs are detecting! Neither the manual scanning nor the "constant system protection" of these programs are able to detect the obvious malware! I can manually delete the folders of these junk/malware but it reappears either instantly or after a restart. Sometimes they are in a form of a firefox/chrome plugin/addon, but at other times they are just regular malware that does various annoying things (mostly ad related). So how can i get rid of all such junk, aside from a full pc format, when all the best anti-virus/malware programs have miserably failed? Is there any way to combat these horrible malware that seem invisible to every form of scanning PC security programs have to offer?
  13. I want to buy "2400MHz Kingston HyperX Savage CL11" (16GB) but i do not want to overclock it right now. If i leave it at the stock (default) speed (i guess 1600MHz?) will it be CL9 or CL11? Can i change the CL11 to be CL9 (or lower?) as long as it is at speeds of 1600MHz or 1866MHz? Can the "2400MHz/CL11 Savage" work at 1866MHz/CL9 (or 1600MHz/CL9) just as good as the other Savage model that is "1866MHz/CL9"? Thanks for helping out.
  14. I am having trouble understanding all this stuff about overclocking RAM and motherboards that support it. For my new gaming PC i can buy either: DIMM DDR3 2x8GB 2400MHz Kingston HyperX Savage CL11 DIMM DDR3 2x8GB 1866MHz Kingston HyperX Savage CL9 For my new motherboard i can choose between: LGA1150 Z97 ASUS SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 2 LGA1150 Z97 ASUS Z97-PRO GAMER LGA1150 Z97 MAXIMUS VII RANGER LGA1150 Z97 ASUS Z97-AR My CPU will be Intel i7-4790K and my PSU is a 750w Seasonic SS-750AM2, GPU is Nvidia GTX 980. I understand that CL9 is better than CL11, but the entire overclocking thing baffles me. What really confuses me is the following: Sabertooth motherboard does not seem to support 2400MHz RAM - but it does support 1866MHz RAM without overclocking, or am i mistaken? The other 3 mother boards support up to 3000+MHz RAM, but they do not support 1866MHz RAM without overclocking? I do not understand how RAM overclocking works, do i sacrifice my CPU performance (or something else) when i overclock my RAM to 2400MHz? If the 2400MHz RAM is left to work at only 1866 MHz, does it still have CL11 - or does the latency drop to CL9 since it runs on 1866MHz? Which motherboard would be the best choice if i want to run a 1866MHz RAM at CL9? Which motherboard would be the best choice if i want to run a 2400MHZ RAM at CL11? I am not able to understand which RAM should i pair up with motherboard for maximum performance? The prices are very similar, so money is not the problem here - i just don't understand which RAM+Motherboard would give the best performance in games like Battlefield 4 (64 multiplayer). (side question): what is better for a single Nvidia GTX 980 GPU, a PCI (32-bit) slot or a PCI-Express 16x slot?
  15. I know about sockets and chipsets on motherboards, also about stuff like USB 3.0 and SATA 3 and maximum RAM speed supported. However, as an amateur gamer, i am having a hard time understanding what exactly we get when we pay for an expensive motherboard. I compare a motherboard of a 130 euros to a motherboard of a 250 euros, and to a motherboard of 400 euros (all are gigabyte/asus with intel z97 with 1150 socket) - and i can barely find noticeable difference in the technical spec comparison. Yea the expensive motherboards look fancy, they have a better sound chip or network chip, and perhaps have more PCIe ports for multiple GPUs - but to me as an amateur gamer pretty much all of those features are borderline unnecessary. Am i missing something else, some hidden features worth paying almost quadruple the cost? What do we exactly get when we pick a 400+ euro motherboard instead of a 130 euro one (both from same company and chipset/socket)? Thank you for helping me out
