  1. Mac compatible HDD? That sounds kind of weird. I got a Samsung 840 Pro in my 2011 model, haven't tried others though. They aren't showing up on your disk manager or on your desktop/finder?
  2. But can i update the bios without voiding the warranty? And where do I find out if there is a newer bios? - Nvidia and ASUS only appear to have drivers available
  3. I'm afraid your right. I also found some forum posts and videos other places, but it seems to be another problem where only one fan works, where my problem is that it wont stop "working" - But they could be related.
  4. Hi folks, I just got a brand new ASUS GTX 970 Strix. However one of the two fans are going at 100% from the sec. i turn the computer on, til I turn it off again. The other fan is responding normal, just spinding at startup, then power down again. Using GPUTweak I can also just control the normal responding fan, while the other one is still going at full speed no mather what I set the RPM % to. Does anybody know if it is a problem I can fix, or do I just have to RMA it?
  5. Not really, biggest disepointment is the streaming services. Other then that, the wide surface aria is great for workflow. As a student it's very nice to have multiple documents open at the same time. It seems like a love-hate thing where you rather instantly know if you like it or not. I came from a 24" 1080p monitor, and this feels more like dual 23" or something, I sometimes feel like I miss 2-3 cm in height, but that was mostly in the beginning. I would only advice against it if you are compromising to much. Mening it's a tricky format, I would really love to get the 34" model, but that would have meant that I should also upgrade my Gfx card, but that was not an option, so I opted for the 29", a nice fit, and it still feels like a considerable better option then what I had before. I don't know how you feel about monitors, but you should consider if the 25" model is getting too narrow in height.
  6. You're welcome, let me know if you want to know anything else
  7. I have had my LG 29" 21:9 for a couple of months now, and based on that I'll say that there is acutely much better game then movie support for this aspect ratio. Why do I say this? It's an 21:9 display, movies are in 21:9 - its a perfect match, right? WRONG.. or kind of. If you are using services like netflix, HBO etc. etc. your not gonna get that 21:9 experience. They stream almost all movies in 16:9 with hardcoded black bars  . Your gonna need a optical media (or pirate) to get the most out of your display, sadly. In games however, Skyrim is the only game that I have had big issues with, most games just let you play, and the 21:9 aspect ratio gives you a bit more immersive feel. I would recommend that you get a 29" model, I think that you would find the 25" model a bit small, especially in hight.
  8. Hi folks, I have a fairly old flatscreen LCD TV (about 5-6 years), with a discoloring problem, I don't know if it is the backlighting or something else that is broken, maybe one of you know if it's a fixable problem? The TV is a Samsung LE32A336 White and black seems okay, but every color in-between seems wrong, and has a greenish/blueish glow to it (see pic below) Thanks in advance.
  9. In my experience, the game got a lot smoother after the last update B) - my biggest complaint now is the intense wildlife, dial it a bit down with the freaking eagles already
  10. I just got my LG 29" 21:9 2560x1080 (LG 29um65) display yesterday. So this is more of an first impression style commet; but I really like the aspect ratio. I have only tried a few games but I think it's best for FPS-games, I love it with Borderlands 2, much more immersive. RTS-games are a bit mixed, It seems nice in ANNO 2070, but in games like Company of Heroes 2, the hud (or whatever it's called) at the "bottom" of the screen just takes up to much space, relative to the battlefield-view. You will also experience many gamemenues that are in 16:9 1080p, not 21:9 1080p. Last, but not at all least. (I know you did not ask, but just a little heads up), streaming services, like Netflix and HBOnordic, have just about nothing in 21:9, I have not found a single movie that was not in 16:9, most even 16:9 with hardcoded blackbars (WT....! ). That being said, the format seems pretty great for some games, I really like it, but it depends on your needs
  11. I would love to play Borderlands 2 with you, I'm a casual newcomer at level 15 Pm me if you want to figure something out Nice idéa, It's says I have to be invited? How do I go about that?
  12. I think you make way to much of a deal out of this. The personal-host style of the WAN show is pretty much a fundamental thing, of course you are getting some political references ones in a while, but that is sort of the cost with that style. It could be a lot more, and much more often then it is. I really don't see the problem. If you don't want to hear about jobrelated topics in your spare time, then a job in politics might not be ideal.
  13. Just a little heads-up, the AOC monitor should be a great choice, BUT the build-quality has been a bit sketchy in the video reviews I could find (mostly at the top of the plastic borders), you might wanna tjek it out before buying Let us know how you like it (if you buy), I'm planning to go 29" 21:9 myself
  14. Do you have a cheap PSU? I have experienced the same a long time ago when I had some cheap (and bad) no-brand PSU
