  1. That is exactly what I said to the technician at dinopc but they ensured me that it is okay to run at that temperature =0 I did still purchase an after market cooler to make sure I got the most out of the cpu. Rupert
  2. Hi all, I have a i7 4790k and they do, and are meant to run hot. According to intel themselves they can happily run at 100c so those temps are fine (I inquired with the custom computer specialists when I purchased my rig as I noticed these temperatures). A quick note though; the stock coolers are rubbish and you can get after market coolers for around £25 so it is worth doing Rupert

  4. Thanks:) I know I can always rely on the linus tech tips community. Appreciate it, Rupert
  5. Hi all, I'm buying a capture card and was wondering, as my pci express x1s seem to be blocked by the gtx 970, could you put the capture card in a pci express x4 as that is not blocked? The capture card is a Avermedia live gamer hd lite for reference, the motherboard is a gigabyte gaming 3 Really appreciate any support, Rupert Smith
  6. Hi everyone, sorry for the delay. I emailed Dino PC and they were very supportive, they told me what to look for in terms of components but there seemed to be nothing wrong. So Dino PC have arranged to pick up the PC for no charge and will find the fault and replace the CPU encase the temperatures damaged it. Thanks everyone for your support! Rupert
  7. Where is the thermal paste (Sorry for the noobness) as I'll check its not boiled
  8. Ok so I've disabled XMP as suggested then ran Cinebench and the temperatures reached 80c. Then I downloaded Prime95 just to double check and the temperatures soared to 100c!!! I'm still not sure what to do, as I say if it requires refitting the cooler I'll send it to dino pc to avoid warranty void!
  9. Right, I have to go now but thanks to all of you for your great help. I will report my findings later on and I think I may email Dino PC just to check what they say about it as it may be worth checking on the off chance that the CPU is faulty. Rupert
  10. Thanks. That's fine-I wont be able to test that now. I'll do it tomorrow (I'm in England) but will report back with my results
  11. Ok thanks, I'll give that a try but if you do disable it-what frequency does the RAM now become?
