  1. And thus I ordered the MSI 1080. My first highend card ever probably my only one hehe.
  2. Thank you for your opinion`s, but in the Netherlands, prices have already dropped last friday. So there is no reason to wait
  3. Hi Everyone, I haven't been on the forums for a while but it's time for a GPU upgrade, I am not waiting voor Vega or the 1080Ti, even though my budget allows a beefier card, I have no intention of spending 600 euro`s or more on a GPU. And even the € 545 for my 1080 choice is more then I would like to pay (my heart says go all out, my brain says don`t do it you idiot. My heart wil probably hurt after spending the money lol) My choice for cards: Zotac GTX 1070 Mini or MSI GTX Armor 1080 8GB , they are both the cheapest in their respective classes. Background information: 60 FPS required playing at 1440p Ultra settings 4K 30 FPS is fine. (TV) Upgrading from a GTX 970 The Question: What would you do ? since there is just a € 126 difference between the two.
  4. Great, this video was really usefull, I also have a 4690K which I am happy with, For me personally an I7 extreme would not be worth getting
  5. I have set the voltage to manual on 1.20 and 1.25 Neither brings an improvement. Still game crashes when setting max at 4.4 GHZ and 4.2 GHZ temprature still below 65C Seems to me I just cant get more out of this thing. sigh
  6. Thats why I didnt have the Fire Extinguisher next to me.
  7. I have a problem with crashing games. After a long investigation It seems to me I can blame either my Motherboard or CPU because running certain games when the CPU is allowed to run ovr 4.1 GHZ results in crashes. Only when gaming. All other scenarios like Prime95, OCCT testing and 3D benchmarking run just fine for hourse. Its not a temp issue since the CPU does not got any hotter then 65C. Also I am having no issue`s when I swap to my older system, which is an I5 2300 and P8P67 Deluxe (1155) otherwise all other components are the same. I even used the same windows 8.1 installation (the really nice part about 8.1) Here is where I started using OCCT and HW monitor to check everything out. I noticed my VCORE is extremely High 1.8V here is the funny thing is, it is always 1.8V in HW Monitor and OCCT even when everything is set to BIOS optimal default Also when the CPU is underklocked. Now when I check the Vcore in the BIOS it is a nice 0.9V . One other conclusion could be that my power supply is insufficient? But I can see no signs of it being either stressed or breaking down. Should I be worried and just return the CPU? SPECS: CPU: I5 4690K Motherboard: Maximus VII Ranger CPU Cooler: NZXT H61 Power supply:Corsair HX850 GPU: GTX 660 SLI
  8. Unless they overklock by default, no. No overklock on them. No software installed to enable overklocking. I had overklocking enabled on my windows 7 installation to see what increase it would bring. But it wasnt worth the overklock. That was when I first bought the cards.
  9. Alas that didnt work either, in a last attempt to test something I swapped the cards around. After doing that instead of having just a crash I received a DPC watchdog violation. sigh I am having this problem after I upgraded my mobo + memory + CPU to think that the same soft and GPU setup works perfectly on my older machine. But otherwise I found no bad hardware. When running the cards alone.
  10. My cards are not overklocked . I perhaps found a solution, sofar the system is stable. I did a combination of godlygamer23`s solution and mine. I first used the standard installatiion setup, removed geforce experience and via device manager I also removed thedrivers. Then I added the driver via the device manager. Now I am able to use both Nvidia control panel and the games that where crashing seem to be more stable. If any crashes occur now I will buy a new GPU.....
  11. I also did that, still crashes.
  12. Hi, I have this really annoying problem with Geforce Experience, when I use geforce experience to install drivers, weither they are freshly installed or updated several games tend to crash. I can fix this issue by manuallly installing drivers. But then I have problems with nvidia control panel in which I need to go to enable SLI. I have already installed my system twice. Any advice is appreciated. using win 8.1 drivers: tried all of them actions taken: reïnstall x2 used driver cleaner twice old fashion device manager install: fixes crashes but no acces to nvidia control panel
  13. I really like my H440 white, I went for black with white accents and with the VII Ranger I am not dissapointed sofar.
  14. I be making it myself, majorly it will be will be wood. ofcourse the motherboard backplate will be still be steel which ill be removing from a ATX case I have somewhere. And yeah the idea is to make the motherboard space as small as possible so that a minimum ammount if air needs to be refreshed. I am also making a 3d model to see if everything will fit. edited typos...
  15. time to get modeling on idea 2 then, Internal layout of idea 1 was almost done
