  1. Thanks for the suggestion. I will be sure to do some tests with Afterburner in the next couple of days and I'll post the results on here
  2. Could you suggest some software that would enable me to do this please? *Edit* and do you think that it's a raw clock speed issue? Would overclocking help if that was the case? It's a black edition so I think I should be able to with relative ease. There is also an all in one watercooler on it so temps shouldn't be an issue for it.
  3. The case has plenty of airflow and the gpu fan sounds like a hoover when in Battlefield so it seems to be working! I have also looked at the temps after tabbing out and they are below 75 Degrees C. Can you suggest any software that would enable me to monitor the GPU temp and clock speed over a period of time?
  4. Can you suggest any software that would allow me to test if that is the case? I am skeptical though as I use an i7 950 with a GTX970 on my own rig with no issues.
  5. Hello to everyone at the Linus Tech Tips forums, this is my first time posting here but I have been watching the Linus videos on YouTube for a while now and this is a community that I trust. In a nutshell, this computer isn't getting the FPS that I think it should be, primarily on Battlefild 4. It was also getting low FPS in League Of Legends (around 30-40 FPS) but that seems to have been rectafied with a BIOS (UEFI) update. The low and inconsistant FPS in Battlefield remains although it seems to have gotten marginally better, but that could just be placebo. League of Legends seems to loading a bit slower than it should be as well, although Battlefield seems to be loading as it should. So far I have updated to the latest VGA drivers (14.12) - http://tinyurl.com/lkxd52r and the latest chipset drivers (They seemed to be a lot newer on the AMD website than compared to the ones on the manufacturer's website.) - http://tinyurl.com/lwaooto I have also updated the BIOS to the latest version from the ASRock website (Version 2.70) - http://tinyurl.com/ky4vds5 Another thing that I have done is to ensure that the GPU isn't thermal throttling. The case is large enough with adequate enough airflow for this configuration. I haven't tried formatting the machine yet. The computer's specs are as follows; Motherboard - ASRock 990FX Extreme 4 - http://tinyurl.com/6rr6gkr CPU - AMD FX-8150, Eight Core, 3.6GHz (Not overclocked) - http://tinyurl.com/k8od4hg GPU - AMD R9 290X, 4GB VRAM, Referance design card (Unsure of the manufacturer as the computer is owned by a friend of mine. I think it is an XFX card.) - http://tinyurl.com/kmfcxq7 RAM - Corshair Dominator Platinum, 1600MHz, 9-9-9-24 Timings, 1.5V, 2 x 4GB Sticks (ver:2.12) - http://tinyurl.com/o4n4wjs PSU - EVGA Supernova NEX750G, 750W, Fully Modular - http://tinyurl.com/ow2me9v HDD - 1x ADATA Premier Pro SP900 SSD, 120GB (Boot drive where both Battlefield and LoL is stored) - http://tinyurl.com/mhjbtv5 HDD 2 - 1x Seagate Barracuda 1TB Mechanical HDD, ST1000DM003-9YN162 - (can't find a resource for this drive) CPU Cooler - Antec Kühler h₂o 920 - http://tinyurl.com/ofgpos6 OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit If any more information about the system is required, let me know and I will provide it. One of the things I am after is a way of quantifying the gaming performance of the computer, I.E. some kind of benchmarking software. This will enable me to have a consistant test for any changes that have been made and will hopefully provide a point of reference for the computer as it is now. It will also provide a comparrison for how this system should be running. Please feel free to let me know about any other information you require or any benchmarking results that would be helpfull. Thanks in advance, Dave
