  1. So I've been troubleshooting for two days now and have run out of ideas. A few days ago I bought a new router, the TP Link wdr3600. All my other devices connected to it perfectly, but one of my laptops, running Windows 8.1, establishes a connection to the router, but then shows Limited Access, and labels my wifi as 'unidentified' and 'public'. This laptop worked fine with the old router a few days prior. The strange part is that the laptop connects perfect through ethernet, but when I connect with wifi it grabs a valid ipv4 address, default gateway, subnet mask, and dns server, but cannot access any websites. When I ping my router (192.168.0.1), it varies with "request timed out" and "Reply from... Destination host unreachable." I've also tried pinging google's dns (8.8.8.8) So I've done a lot of troubleshooting to try narrow this down. When I booted this laptop with a live Ubuntu cd, I was able to connect it to the wifi and it worked perfectly. I've tried using a static ip. I've also messed around with the router's security settings and other settings to see if it would fix it. As for as network driver's go, this laptop's official wifi driver doesn't work with windows 8, so it is using the default Broadcom network driver. I would greatly appreciate any insight on this problem,
  2. Lots of people, including me, can't run their GTX 500 series video card past the 314.22 driver without having the gpu crash in Windows. Has anyone found a newer driver that doesn't have these problems? I know this has been a problem for many drivers beyond 314.22.
  3. I have a Intel and Nvidia setup with a gtx 560 ti and 3570k for my personal rig, but this is the second time I've built a AMD based gpu rig with the 7000 series and while playing games it does not feel nearly as smooth as my computer, even though they are both running at 60fps. The AMD rig seems to microstutter/stutter. Is this just a common thing with AMD gpu's, and is there any fix? Also I've tried the Riva Tuner fix where you cap the fps to 59.
  4. do the amd fx series heatsinks have a protective film on top of the thermal paste that you have to remove before installing the heatsink?
  5. Curious to see if people let their game clients like Steam run in the background of Windows. I personally don't because I'm ocd about anything not essential running in the background.
  6. Hmmm... I don't understand why it isn't working. I have even tried refreshing the search index.
  7. I updated to Windows 8.1 yesterday and when I search for anything like "Device Manager", "Power Options", "User Account" or "Optimize Drives", there are no search results at all. These are all settings related and in Windows 8 would show up under the "Settings" category in the search screen. Oddly, they show up in search results for a minute or two after restarting Windows. Is it a bug? Anyone else experiencing this issue?
  8. Thanks. I originally was going to have no stripes but it looked a little too plain for my taste.
  9. You know whats ironic; the font I used in this wallpaper is one of Razer's fonts that gets installed with Razer Comms... And if you didn't know already Razer is a big sponsor of the Linus Media Group.
  10. WOW! That is some crazy talent, especially considering his age.
  11. Well, not exactly. I used... Paint and Microsoft Word. :D
  12. Which varitation did you want me to make in 2560 by 1600? Or did you want me to make all of them 2560x1600
  13. I sent you the wallpapers for your 1280 by 1240 and 1280 by 1024 monitor.
  14. I've made a Linus Media Group wallpaper. There are a few variations I made. I went for a flat minimalistic design. Tell me what you guys think. This zip contains 4 files. Linus Media Group Wallpapers.zip
  15. I've been waiting to get a copy of Windows 8. Here's my chance!
